Staying with stock brakes. Upgrade not cost effective. Going with Meyle HD control arm/tie rod/sway bar link kit and 1BE 17mm rear sway bar. FK's will be ordered once they're back in stock.
    Excellent cliff notes!

HD bushings should keep things good to go for a long time. Hopefully you'll get a little better corning with the sway bar too. FK's will be sweeeeeeeet on there cause it definitely is in the need of MOAR LOW!

    lol Thanks.

Yea, I'll most likely need the HD arms and tie rod ends once I do get the FK's anyways. Some of the guys said that it puts some extra strain on the control arm bushings to lower it which I can understand. I'm sure the sway bar will help too. At least once I get the FK's I can decide how low I want to be with it, but those are on back order for now so I'll have to wait a bit for them. At this point I'm just trying to get everything figured out of what to buy before I actually do buy it. :P

I would get the 034 density line control arms they are a good deal and i know somebody who can get em lol. Im probly gonna use them from now on as they are cheaper than the fcp kits and i believe cheaper than the meyle and just as good.

Hey Andy, where do you see the control arm kits on their website? I'm looking and not seeing any. Doesn't FCP Groton actually sell the Meyle kits? The only reason I know the Meyle HD kits are good is because a ton of the Passat guys run them.

Wow, I haven't touched this for 2 months. lol

Anyways, just an update to let everyone know what's going on. I currently have the complete Votex kit sitting in my storage garage with the car. Most likely it will be getting painted and installed within the next couple of months. Also, I have a new (used) set of W8 headlights that I was able to pick up for 218 shipped. They came complete with ballasts and bulbs, so it was a good deal and they have no scratches, just need to be hit with the 3M headlight restoration kit and installed.

I'm still researching my suspension setup as it's been changing over a few months now. I was able to find some other upgrades to do, just trying to make it all final and figure out where to order it all from to save the most money. I'm also looking into changing oils as I feel the Mobil 1 0W-40 European car formula is a bit too thin. Thinking of going to Mobil 1 Delvac ESP 5W-40 after reading about it on the W8 forum. A fellow W8 owner reported that it was doing a better job than his previous ELF synthetic 5W-40 after just one oil change. Shear numbers and contamination was down quite a bit from the ELF which was surprising for an oil that was reported to be used for heavy-duty diesel semi's and construction equipment. I'll let you guys know how that goes as the oil change and other stuff probably won't happen for a couple of months. Been busy with the girlfriend's car lately and don't want to try and overlap work.

At this point as far as suspension it's looking like this:

    ST Coilovers
    H&R 32mm front sway bar
OEM Sport suspension 17mm rear sway bar
    Audi S4 rear tie bar
Meyle HD upgraded S4 control arm kit (with hardware)
B5.5 Passat upgraded full metal outer tie rod ends

Also, I may be able to use a snub mount from a 1.8T Passat. They are apparently the same size as the W8 snub mount. Other than that it's still up in the air. Still trying to piece things together.

I missed your entire update up to here. Something tells me that's not what you really said but... I'll have to take your word for it because that is far to much for me to read right now. That being said...

I miss you too Cody. Next time you see me I might even have more ink for you to look at.

Id go with the 034 control arms as they are the same price as meyle and made of stiffer stronger rubber.

lol I understand. I've always been bad about getting pictures up. I plan on getting some pictures here once I get the car back out. I need to do some measuring for the snub mount and Audi tie bar to make sure they will work for my car. I plan on getting some pictures for before and after the Votex kit so people can see the difference. That'll just give me motivation to start doing things. lol I should put up pictures of Grace's car as it's the car I get the most work done on. lol
