Right there! No need for the wire puller on the 2.0.

NEVER jsut pull on the wire, you will most likely break it. They can be on there like glue from all the heat. The plastic wire puller I have is hardly worth the trouble using on my 2.slo.. get the metal one if anything, but it's a lot of $ for all it does. I just get tricky and pry up on the metal plug wire end (right at the spark plug) with a flat blade while me/someone tugs on the top of the boot (The rubber BOOT, not the wire). Once they are "unstuck" from miles of heat, they will free themselves with just prying from the bottom.

Good cheap tuneup:
-plugs (Get Bosch or NGK)
-plug wires if yours are worn/chewed/test out of spec with a multimeter
-cap
-rotor
-air filter
-fuel filter
-clean out the throttle body with carb cleaner (easier to do off the car)
-clean battery terminals
-clean out rain gutter so your vents dont smell like dirt

I've heard good things about AutoTech shock therapy plug wires from Andy (DubTuner). I think he can get you a set for relatively cheap
