nice euro plate...I have been back and forth on gettin one....I would for sure rock one at a GTG!!

I am going to do custom University of Iowa plates (The gold and black plate), cause I think the yellow and black would look money on a black car. Should I do a custom plate or just the "UI####"?

Right now the only custom plate I have come up with that i like is "1PT ATE" cause only a select few would understand it also it's fairly discrete for a custom.

Not trying to get off topic but suggestions please!!

i love it! i have noticed today that it attracts a lot of attention from other drivers -- hopefully not too much from the cops ;)

i'm going to shave my iowa plate though so it will fit into the europlate frame, so that way i can put it back in there if i need to -- otherwise i'll just use zip ties :tu:

I also don't have a front plate and the only ticket I have gotten in almost 3 years was when I was parked on the street in Minneapolis :rolleyes:

Although I think a euro plate will draw more attention than no plate at all, but hopefully they dont mess with you :tu:

just put your real front plate in ur windshield, I believe in Iowa you have to have a front one visible, but nothin says that you have to have it on the bumper.

Just so you guys know Griots Garage sells Euro plates with identical seals to the ones in Europe. Probably costs a little more but still very cool to have an exact reproduction of the real thing.

By bte way it is illegal to have any foriegn plate on the front or rear of the car. My wife got pulled over in Ankeny a couple of years ago in my civic with my Nagano Japan plate on the front of it. It looked cool on the car and was a exact replica of the ones from Japan. I got away with it on the front for a while....till my wife was the one who gut busted with a warning.

I'm thinking about ordering one...what do you think about the location of the plate on this Passat? (I would put it past the dark part of the windshield so you could actually see it...) I think it's unique, but the only thing is, I put one of my PKG stickers along the A-pillar where the plate would go. What do you think?

The placement isn't too bad. I would just throw it on for pictures and stick it up in the window when you aren't using it if you are afraid of what the law might say.
