1991 VW GTi VR6

I thought I might as well start a thread for my new daily :).

Most of you were able to check it out during the QC GTG. It's a little rough around the edges but definitely a blast to drive! Pretty darn good condition for an 18 year old car.

current mods:

- full mkIII VR6 swap, 02A transmission, brakes, everything.
- catback TT exhaust
- 272 cams
- Sach's stage II clutch
- Sach's coilovers
- ECS Tuning 20mm spacers in the rear
- glass VDO gauges
- Jetta front end

I've already thrown on a new alternator, serp. belt and belt tensioner.

The car itself has 130k on it, engine is slightly under 100k and the chains have already been done :). The interior is also minty fresh, minus a headliner. The Recaro seat's are PERFECT and awesome seats. Looking forward to fixing a few quirky things with it and probably a few more mods in the future.

Only pics I have right now are from the QC GTG... took a bunch after cleaning it up before hand but I haven't uploaded them yet.

Are the same ones I have in the Fox? If so, yeah those aren't the trophies. I can't remember what they call them though either.

No they have the smaller bolsters and in ancient germany, are called recaro medals.

I want to ride in this some time John. It hung with Anthony's 20th pretty well.

Yeah I dont know what gear Anthony left in, but I wish I would have left in 3rd... it would have hit the power band a lot earlier :). It's definitely a very quick car that pulls HARD all the way to 7 and probably well past it.

I'll look into what model the Recaro's are... until then, I call them AwesomeAssHugging Recaro's.

yeah those are the same seats I have in the Fox. I believe those are the Helios. VERY COMFY BTW!

This car has been awesome in the winter!

I've been searching for summer wheels like crazy... most of the time leading to dead ends.

I wanted to stay with 15x7's so I don't have to get new tires, but I haven't been able to find anything I like with a 5x100 bolt pattern.

Soooo... these are the 2 choices I like right now... 16x7.5 all the way around. No stagger, because I want it to handle well ;).

Keskin KT-1's... having 2 Tornado Red car's running the same wheels sounds awesome.

Or Miro STP1's... I love a nice mesh wheel on mkII's. I would probably up painting the centers a different color if I went with these.
