okay so i'm doing what my friend calls a "coilover" build lol.
I got drop zone springs and probably getting supersport struts.
my question is... can i use my stock top hats or do i have to get different ones? if i do need to find differement ones. where can i go?

Never heard of either of those companies... especially "drop zone".
Are they built specifically for your car? Or are they knock offs that you are try to rig up?

and u wonder why i call you a ricer.
do shit right for christ's sake.
its like you like me making fun of you.
i cant comment on either of those companies, but most coil overs are considerably smaller in diameter (2.25in) than oem coils.
so in short, yes, you will need all new parts

if your getting springs and struts seperate odds are these arent coilovers but a cup kit. I know of super sport but not drop zone i would go with a reputable company and get rid of that crap. You could get a whole supersport cup kit shipped to your door for like 400 maybe even 350. Or get some bilstein TC's (blacks) and a set of vogtland springs (they are very reasonably priced i think i can get em for like 150ish) and get new hd mounts and throw that combo in.

i would take this mans advice.
on a rare occasion you can put together randon kits. my coil over kit has koni struts, racers edge threaded collar+spring perch, hypercoil springs, and a kla upper mounts. my environment differs from some though.

I like cadwiz's autotech cup kit with progressive springs. It is what I plan on doing on mine as well. Granted we both have mkiv's. But it feels great driving daily and stiffens up great when going through the turns. They have set ups for every gen I believe. I would at least check it out. For the mkiv it's only about 500. Solid and cheep.

Yes I would also consider getting a better brand of springs and struts. I have been researching this for my car and everyone I talk to say's stay away from cheap. If you really think about it Euro cars start with higher end parts from the factory so why put cheap parts on? This point is the one thing that keeps euro cars and jdm cars different cause jdm cars already have cheap parts so its not a big deal to throw cheap parts on them. Basically you should never cheapen up a car when modding. A mod should be an improvement. However it is your car and do what you want.
