hey guys.
i don't know anyone else with the amount of vw parts as you do so...

my friend drives a '98 cabriolet gt and it needs a drivers side electric window regulator.

can anyone help me?

you just need the cables not the motor (i'm guessing) their not to expensive but good luck finding one from parts cars because they like to go bad alot

i know that you can only use a cab one, a jetta or gti will not work

Yep cheapest I could find was like 265 plus shipping... Sorry I lied they were alot more than i remembered.

They are very hard to find used. I get requests every day for used ones .

via car-part.com Chase in Waterloo lists one BUT says they won't separate from the door, so you have to buy the whole door to get the reg. OTOH the whole door is only $75, not bad for a cabrio door IMO.

And most likely it has been sitting out in the elements and the regulator probably isn't tested

I've never found them difficult to deal with, nor have they refused to take anything back that didn't work either. It's relatively easy to test these too.

Besides, it was only a suggestion, since no one at the time seemed to have one available.

No harm intended. I was just saying that if they are selling the whole door the regulator probably isn't tested. I would think it would be kind of like you are buying a door with a free regulator.
