Fs: 92 Vw Gti 16v

Im selling my 92 GTI 16V 5 speed its got 147K on it. Here is some of the info from the ad on vortex where i bought it

1992 GTI 16V 2.0L
-Poly bushings in the control arms
-Brand new V-Maxx coilovers
-VR6 beefier strut bushings/bearings
-poly stut bushings in the rear
-TT chip
-Eurosport intake with brand new K&N drop in(my favorite mod)
-Autotech Tri-Y header
-Autopower sport street roll bar
-Autotech rear upper strut bar
-Neuspeed rear lower sway bar
-Recaro interior
-Aero e-codes joey modded w/city lights (city lights aren't hooked up yet)

Recently replaced parts within the last 5K:
-front bearings
-Alternator
-Water pump
-thermostat
-power steering pump
-coolant temp. sensor
-fan switch sensor (I replaced it with the cooler one)
-Had the CIS-Motronic system re-calibrated or what ever you call it by the master Jason @ Mobile 1(It was expensive but very well worth it)

bad:
-Needs headliner material (I took it out since it started falling)
-needs o2 sensor (runs fine w/o it, but might cause problems down the road)
-dent in the front pass. side fender & small dent in the pass. door
-hatch has rust
-rust is just starting here & there & paint is pretty dull/faded so that needs to be the first thing to take care of.
-I took the a/c out when I first got it & threw everything away

In addition to all that i have a timing belt kit i will include. I also have a rust free hatch that we were prepping to shave that i will include. I also converted the car over to single round cross hairs with a badgeless grille but i will include the previous square jetta front end as well. It needs a muffler and right now i am replacing the cluster as it took a shit. I put a new shift boot on it and also put a new inner and outter tie rod assembly on the passenger side. The car will come with some 15" modas that i have. If its a make or break deal i will pull the headliner and have it recovered or i could also put the timing belt kit in for you. I stored the car last winter so since ive had it it hasnt seen snow previously i believe it was the guys dd.

wanna put some details up about the corrado

Its a 92 Corrado SLC VR6 5 speed with about 135k on it, and it spun a rod bearing. I will be putting in a used motor with about 100k on it. Ill replace the timing chains, clutch, preassure plate, throwout bearing, e brake cables, adjust the newspeed exhaust as the previous owner didnt install it very well, install a used sunroof, and any general maintenance it needs. Ill be asking 4k obo and i should finish it up in the coming weeks as i want it done before winter gets here full bore. Its got the tan leather interior in decent shape and is red i believe tornado red but im not 100% sure on that. Has good rubber on the stock bbs wheels. I can really think of much else right now. I paid 2900 for the car and with all the work im putting in i think it will be worth 4000 as you should have a pretty bulletproof corrado. Also i will get the car detailed before i sell it.

Absolutely nothing thats the beauty of it i will have done everything for the buyer, also if their is genuine interest in the car i can kick it up a notch a possibly have it done by sometime next week

No issues and i have put 20k on a different corrado and all i had to do is replace the thermostat housing with no other cooling problems. The thermostat housing and crack pipe are common issues on all vr6's their are no other cooling issues i am aware of and i have 3 different vr6 cars. I will replace the crack pipe and thermostat housing when i put the new motor in as thats part of the maintenance i have planned. Everyone kinda thinks corrado's break down alot and have many problems and i can attest to the fact they have been great cars for me and i enjoy driving them more than any other car i have owned vw or otherwise.

I love this car!!! He got the sexy crosshair single rounds/badgeless grille and all the rad support stuff on after buying the car- really made it look great!

Don't forget about the roll cage! This is a car that you really need to see in person. You'll love it! :D

If you look at the picture in the vortex thread you can see the only rust i have found in the engine bay their are also pics of the rust the is just starting arond the windows. Im pretty much including all of my mk2 stuff with this car as i wont have one anymore

Removed the cat and put a testpipe in its place, new 02 sensor, fixed powersteering, rebuilt alternator, cluster is fully functional again, new power steering boots, and putting a new headliner in and probly a new muffler also have new shifter bushings on the way. May even mount up the other hatch but well see as its not the right color currently. Throwing some good tires on maybe today or tomorrow well see.

whats the mileage now?

would you consider it reliable (as in no maintenance for at least one year) ?

Mileage is in the 140's and i would consider it reliable but keep in mind is almost 20 years old shit breaks on every car but as an example it started right up after sitting since october. I am not interested in trades the only things i would take right now are things i need such as r32 clutch capable of at least 700ft lbs, standalone engine management and 16v turbo stuff for a different project, maybe some 1.8t stuff for pearls car, or rear syncro parts and a haldex differential and maybe some s4 parts. The last thing i need is more cars though.

Actually once i got her put back together and test drove i wasnt to happy to get rid of it. I sadly have to many cars and it was necessary.
