View Full Version : GTG location for Central/Eastern IA
Lets pick a place where we can meet for one of the initial Central/Eastern Iowa GTGs. I would be OK with Iowa City or CR or something to that tune. Do any of the other guys want to see a halfway point? Anything is good for me.

Williamsburg is about perfect.
my old club had ppl from DSM, CR, and Davenport. the Tanger Outlet Mall in Williamsburg is pretty central to all those places. they have PLENTY of parking lot space, couple fast food places, and we've never been hassled by the mall. one security even came out to tell us he thought it was cool we were all meeting there. :D

I def down with this... I get to williamsburg in about twenty minutes:eek: :cool: (not really lol)
its about 1.5 hours from Ames, and something like just around an hour from Altoona (we would usually meet at the rest stop near altoona at mile marker 149 and then caravan over to Williamsburg.)

What about State Center. If im not mistaken its the center of the state. So therefor its pretty centralized

for sure. state center is a town of about 5 people plus a custom motorcycle shop. :TD:

-parking lots are too full at mall of america
-nobody wants to see TO and i was already in dallas this year
-Im not paying for shipping to germany
-keywest would be a vacation spot
-denver would be decent
-probably would be able to get to the moon non the less drive them there, where are they going to get air for the engines?

my car runs on straight Nitrous Oxide, no air needed. so moon is alright for me. Ill just hold my breath though. I spent all my money on the NO2 kit so I could get the O2 tank for me

the next immediate GTG will be on Sunday, January 14th, in Atlantic, IA. we're still working out all the details with GOVAG.

ouch... Atlantic is too far for me...
I'm fine to drive 2 hours from Waterloo - Williamsburg, CR, Iowa City, Ames, Des Moines - all are fine with me.
Definitely lookin' forward to something soon though - I'm anxious to meet you guys!
Atlantic isnt a usual meeting place, mainly because were meeting the boys/gals from omaha. You should make the trip... i think everyone is going to drive to des moines the night before and is welcome to crash at some of our houses including mine.

I'm fine with IC, CR, Cedar Falls/Waterloo, Ames. We need a nice large parking lot with tons of snow at some point :)

But yes I will plan on going to Atlantic, :D weather permitting :D
glad to see people are getting excited for our first official GTG. i can't wait to see what it will be like this spring/summer.

Since you guys are driving into DesMoines on Sat night, why not a two part get together. A get together in DesMoines Sat night and then those that want to go onto Atlantic can all drive out in the morning on Sunday? Just a thought.

it should be a good turnout. we're also co-hosting this even with GOVAG (http://www.govag.net), so they should have guys coming over from Omaha as well.

i think that's a great idea. and with adam offering up sleeping quarters in Des Moines, i imagine we'll meet up sometime Saturday afternoon or evening to kick it for awhile. then sunday we can all roll to Atlantic to meet the GOVAG guys. :TU:
