I have a family friend here in town that has a laser engraver, supposedly it's one of 3 in the U.S. and is supposed to be able to engrave "everything from oak to diamonds" It's bomb ass technology. I know he would engrave sill plates for us but they would have to be pre-made. Would the group like me to try and get estimates?

Can you make me a badge to replace my vw logo in the hatch? I want like the ring on the outside so from a distance it looks stock, but I want the shocker instead of vw:

http://i106.photobucket.com/albums/m266/cutemyspacetags/random/shocker.gif

I will pay $$$$$ and I know people here and on the 'tex would eat them up!

Honestly I stole the idea from dbadged but it was a mk3 and it was in the front grill.

PLEASE!!!!!!!!:D :D :beerglass: :beerglass:

That would be pretty cool. I am thinking personal badges in the front VW logo area could be pretty cool.

You got it. Can you route the edges at a 45' so it's not just cut out like a cookie cutter? or I could polish the crap out of it, except I don't know how to polish...

This would be sweet!

OrangeDUB
04-18-2007, 09:17 AM
Okay.... The thickness of the outer ring is 3/8" (as would be the thickness of the lines that make up the shocker hand)

O.D. = 4 5/16"
I.D. = 3 9/16"

The rear emblem is mounted to a bubbled-out black rubber/plastic piece. So the emblem itself is bubbled out in turn. I think the shocker logo would need to omit the whole vw badge and replace the unit altogether... with a round black piece behind it for contrast...
:D If you can make this I would be greatly in debt to you sir

THE MODEL ARE THE EXACT DIMENTIONS FOR A MK 4 JETTA TOOK THE MEASURMENTS FROM MY VERY OWN CAR.

The door sills are killer too BTW. I would definately buy a set :tu:

I will get back to you on mounting the emblem, cad. Before I tear the trim off the interior of my hatch again, I'll research if it's just 3M holding it on. I think I remember seeing the rear hatch of a mk4 that was completely de-badged. The vw emblem on the back is in a circular recess. I'll edit this post and add some pics if I can find them...

Here is one picture of a guy's car that actually got his badges STOLEN! Sad, hopefully it wasn't another dubber, that would be buschleague.
You can see how the logo mounts though, 3M adhesive and lots of it.

Does Ti Mount To A Black Piece Then To The Hatch?

OrangeDUB
04-19-2007, 10:21 AM
Yeah it mounts on a black plastic piece. the emblem itself looks to be perfectly flat on the bottom, and it bubbles out on top. The measurements I took were of the chrome part. The black piece between the chrome part and the hatch goes out just a little around the logo. The good news is that where it mounts on the hatch in that recessed area, it's perfectly flat.

I might try to get a hold of one of these for a prototype if you would need it?
Maybe I can get hold of some crankers to rip one off the back of another golf. Woah just kidding :)

The MKV rear badge is designed the same way, badge clips to plastic that is 3m attached to the car.

I believe the actual definition is: Two in the pink, one in the stink.

The "shocker" symbol seems to be somewhat of a "high school" phenomenon in the car world. I remember seeing it a lot back on Honda-Tech when I had my Civic.
