So althgouh we have a storied past in the Audi world, we are now working on a MKII GTI project. This will be a monster and we are hoping for some publications (it looks like a very possible scenario). I have not posted on the Tex yet....because I sort of want to keep it on wraps :germany: but I think I'll post progress here. Stay tuned!

DM Magazine is always on the lookout for feature cars. I am the Technical Editor for the magazine. http://www.dmsportmag.com

I'll be looking forward to seeing how this build progresses.

Ah, very cool. I am not one to overpromise, but a small list includes:

ABA x-flow swap with T03/04 turbo.. forged internals
02A tranny w/ peloquin
034efi stgIIc standalone
custom BBS RM's w/ staggered Schmidt lips
shaved engine bay
BBK
Koni CO's
Custom paint, shaved blah blah

That's a start. It would be awesome to have DM do a feature!

Just remember that shaveing handles completely voids it from being allowed on most tracks for safty reasons.:D

^^ I've heard good stuff about Por-15 as well. There was a guy on Vortex using it in his Mk1 Jetta build. Builds like these are what I love to read through and follow. It is very inspiring. It makes me want to get a project car like this to go crazy on. I'm really itching for a Mk2 or an old Rabbit. :D

Word.

You know the funny thing is, I dont have experience with body work. The manager at SVE Autobody, which are one of the best shops in the country, comes over to the house and "advises" me. I have been learning as I go, and my pops has some welding experience so that helps.

I am hoping to have it to paint by the end of next week. Then the fun stuff starts

Almost done. I picked them up from media blast and straightening today. Get this, ALL 4 WERE BENT. At least I got brand new centers and tires with them. This part alone cost me $800 bones. Plus the original cost, plus the brand new staggered Schmidt step up lips I bought, plus the wheel bolts, and now................ powdercoating. Pics coming soon
