Hey guys...as most of you know...my CEL is always on. Loccusst reset it on Sat. and i was going to drive nice so i wouldnt misfire and trip it. well that lasted until i got on 80 and i misfired....but anyway....so i trip the light on sat afternoon, and i went to work this afternoon and then when i was leaving work, my CEL was NOT on?!?!?!?! that confuses the hell outta me!! i didnt know that they could ever reset themselves....
unless mike snuck up to ames and reset my CEL without me noticing....:D creepy...
so its not really a problem...just wondering what is up with that! thanks!

When My Fill Tube Was Full Of Holes , Then I Patched It My Light Went Off To. I Could Only Assume That Your Car Knew It Wasn't Missfireing And The Light Went Off . If You Hooked It To The Vag I Would Bet You Still See The Cel Codes There:d

Yes the code would still be there. The CEL stays on and doesn't go off if it is a continuous problem. In other words it must happen multiple times, if it comes on once and then stops the CEL will eventually go away.

It only took Marcus about 20 minutes to change all four, but we were also talking about how cool of a club PKG is and laughing at the blown up eclipse with the tow straps stuffed behind the bumper mesh.

Hope it stays that way.....so what was the deal with the toasted Eclipse?
so what was the deal with the toasted Eclipse?
I guess he blew it up several months ago. I think he told me it had around 160K miles on it. Nothing done to it besides a fart can, but he drove that thing hard all the time always tearing around in it.
He had it sitting in one spot (with a blown motor) for 3-4 months and the property manager said he had to move it or they would tow it away so he hooked up the tow straps to his huge F350 truck and pulled it over into a different spot, lol.
The guy is a loon though. Very weird.

That's what happens when you drive a car like a race car when it isn't. I drive my GTI "Fun"....that is what I call it, "Fun", because rarely do I get to 6,000rpms or drive it super hard.
