2nd Semi-Annual Albert Lea GTG! :: Sat., April 21, 2007

This is the semi-annual GTG down at Albert Lea. We had one about 6 months ago, and it was a blast!

WHEN: Saturday, April 21st

WHO: Any VW, AUDI, or BMW guys, or whoever else wants to come. From anywhere in the Midwest!

WHAT: Just GTG and chill and chat.
There will also be a cruise in the afternoon.
Probably frisbee, and stuff like that.
We will be bringing grilling stuff and drinks.
Bring your own stuff to add to the pot too!

WHAT TIME: Be there around 11:00 am.
Ames/DSM guys will meet at 9:00 am in the K-mart parking lot in Ames.

Iowa:
-Take 35 North
-Take the 90W exit.
-Take the first exit after that which is Exit #157 Albert Lea Cr-22.
-At the end of the ramp take a left.
-At the second stop light (Richway Dr.) Take a right.
-Drive until you go over a small bridge, then keep an eye out on your left for Lakeview Blvd. And turn left onto it.
-Turn right into the park about an 1/8th of a mile down.
-Drive the trails of the park and you will see the lot with our cars.

Gloves of Death is going up there from Waterloo. I am planning on driving up and then just driving back at the end of the day. But, its not as far for me as it is for you.

This is the next big GTG for PKG. Thought I would bring it back up to the top. Currently there are about 30 cars scheduled for attendance at this meet. We had a blast last fall and this year is sure to be even more fun. :tu:

This meet is up in the air right now. I think I've got to get the valve stem seals done in my Jetta and I don't know if I trust the GTI that far yet, even though it made the drive from Florida :). We'll see!

Which one? The Jetta or the GTI??? I've just started to have smoking issues with the Jetta. So I have narrowed it down to the exhaust side of the turbo seal or the valve stem seals. It seems 50/50 on the Tex. I have to pull my downpipe off and see if it's full of oil.

If you guys are going to come up on 218, do you want to meet right off I-35 in Mason City? I believe there is a gas station just off of I-35 on HWY 122 (on the east side of the interstate and the north side of the highway).

That's where we met last year.

It's about 85 miles from Ames to Mason City so I'd say we'll be there between 10:15-10:30am.
