Anyone else take advantage of the weather to hand wash?
First time for the Passat, tt and A4 this past Sunday since '08. They look CLEAN!.
I noticed some orange balloons on the back bumpers on all three - will have to tackle that a little later.
DAN - why do most of the orange ballons (rusty little dots with orange around them) collect on the back bumpers? I've noticed this for a couple years - hardly any on the sides and less when you move forward on the car (Like none on the front quarters for the most part).

It's brake dust/rotor rust. In most cases a good clay bar will take them right off

exactly ^^
or complain to the dealership (if it's still under warranty) and they will remove it all with an acid bath.
they did that to my mom's 05.5 jetta.. there were rusty specs all over it.

HAHA, ya rail dust remover/acid will do the trick. Most dealerships will do it that way. Even after that, the car will still need a clay job, but the acid does most of the work. :censored:
