Very nice!

It's good to have more Porsches in the club. Your 924 is very clean! I have quite a bit of experience working on 356's and older 911's... I'm sure we could help you with some of the bigger stuff if your interested in a trip to Waterloo.

What year is it?

its an 87 924s if your not familiar with the "s" model its actually an early 944 wearing a 924 body. (944 engine, audi 5spd, 944 suspension)

i'm pretty good at learning as i go, but i am going to need serious help with the clutch. it requires taking out the rear mounted transmission and torque tube. if you guys could help with that i would be willing to drive/haul it that direction.

thanks, that means a lot. i was looking for an e21 or e30 (used to have a clean e21) when i bought it, and its that reaction that confirms i did the right thing. or at least i think...

still lookin good, i remeber seeing that car last year and its impressive in person, its very clean and with the tasteful modern upgrades that you've done with wheels and the steering wheel it all comes together very well.

you need to come out to some of our meets very soon now that its getting nicer!! :tu:

when i was in my early teen, 944s and 968s were one of my favorite cars, and when i ran across this when shopping for a 3 i couldn't resist.

i am hoping to get a clutch put in soon.

ive talked to john and lenny and if all goes well, we will be getting together to tear apart my car in hopes of alleviating the drivetrain vibration caused by my old rubber centered clutch.

would you guys recommend an aluminum flywheel while we are at it? its not cheap...

You talk a lot about the money you want to spend on it...

alright, the money is being spent now...

i am ordering:
-sachs 944 spring centered clutch
-aluminum flywheel
-solid upper strut mounts
-coilovers for all four corners

with the help of the 'loo crew (john and lenny) we should be putting the clutch in on May 29-31 (it may take all weekend) if you want to help, please let me know.

i will probably try to get the coilovers installed prior to this in the des moines/pella area. if anyone feels eager to help with this let me know. by the looks of it however, i think i can handle it myself.

alright its time for a long overdue update...

ive got the clutch/aluminum flywheel business all sorted out (wires to started were grounding causing the solenoid to engage...)

thanks, i want to get up there sometime...

update:
this weekend i got the manual rack installed, replaced a broken clip on the shift linkage, resealed the shifter hole, reinstalled the shift boot, and did a quick vacuum

the manual rack was a HUGE improvement. it saved a ton of weight and cleaned the engine compartment up considerably. (removed power rack, pump, reservoir, cooler, and all the associated lines)

the steering feel and feedback is also terrific :drive:
