Ok...i need some winter tires, and i have been looking around a little

I have always run Blizzak WS-50's in the past, but now i see tirerack has the Dunlop Graspic DS-2 for not that much...have any of you had any expirence with them or have any recommendations??

Thanks a million!

I dont know if they are even available still but my Blizzak Revo 2s are absolutely amazing. Apparently some Corvette guys liked em so much they decided to see how long they would last in the summer, Id stick with using em in the winter. They're an ice and snow tire as opposed to a snow and ice tire (thats how they classify em) so they're perfect for Iowa.

the Dunlop Wintersport 3Ds are supposed to be quite nice for a performance winter tire

I have been rolling on the Nokian Hakkapelitta RSi's this past winter and they never let me down. I decided that the Finns might know how to handle snow.

I also think the Blizzaks are a good way to go.

Yeah I think I remember getting a $50 or $100 rebate on mine too.

i used to have some michelin pilot alpin snow tires and they were very good..

now on my wife's car we run kumho winter tires.. the ones that you can add studs to (we don't have them on) and they have performed well on the mk3 and on the mk1 they are on now

check the kumho's for a good compromise on price and quality

IMO the dunlops would probably be a step down from these..

what tire size do you need? i didn't see that posted?
or maybe i can't read ;)

alright guys....thanks a ton....

I ended up finding some on craigslist...which happen to be dunlops as well...

i need 17s or anything with 5x100 bolt pattern, but i am picking some up on thursday, all four for $150...sounds good to me!

they were used for 1 winter and then he sold the car, so they still have 10/32 out of 11/32 of tread...so we shall see

My Nokian's are kickin ass so far this year :tu: :tu:

They are supposed to be as good as blizzaks for traction but have way longer tread life.

I'm beginning to think you might be a euro wannabe, Forumula 1, WRC... oh come on...what would the Finns know about snow driving... :)
