Hey all,

Long story short, my GTI got rear ended this weekend. The other person's insurance has claimed full liability. I can either go to one of their shops and not worry about handling money or I can go where I like and get a check from one of their adjusters.

The closest "company" shop to me (Indianola) is Nobel Ford. Any idea if they are a competent body shop? Got a better option in the DM area?

The rear bumper is dented in on the driver side and the bumper and the panel above it are pushed out from the car where they meet the rear fender just behind the rear wheel.

Overall, it really isn't much damage. I just want it done right.

Thanks for your input!

Can't speak for their body shop but their service area sucks...service managers that don't know a thing and are not customer friendly. I'm so glad I got rid of the pos trailblazer.

If you can go to an independant place and are willing/able to drive to Des Moines maybe check out Acheson Auto Works on University. I think some of the people here have gotten work done there and the owner seems to appreciate a good German car (plus he is my neighbor :D ).

Achenson painted my rear bumper for me, the paint looks great but as for how well they installed it or listened to the customer IDK. Steve Achenson is a great guy and maybe if I would have talked to him about the bumper install it would have been handled better. Maybe cause its a newer car and they haven't delt with it before but, the body shop manager just didn't seem to get that it wasn't installed completely. me and Loccusst actually were the ones that finally got the bumper installed correctly, Thanks Mike.

I have also had Stivers Ford do some body work on my Mustang when it needed some, they also did nice work, paint match was just barely off (car was 11 years old and you probably wouldn't notice if I didn't tell you "i am a little picky") but their service was great went back and they were welling to fix things I asked for and still remembered me a few years later when I went back

I would still go back to either place just maybe at this point leaning more towards Stivers as they cost less and seemed more willing to listen to me
