Ok so my white jetta i had on here i'v been tinkering with lately.

So i got my idle problem figured out now i have a new one. The fuel pump kicks on and off.

So one time when i turn the key halfway it turns on and runs great, but then i might shut it off then turn it right back on and the fuel pump won't kick on therefore it won't start?

So i took the fuel pump out thinking that it was possibly locking up, nope i kicked it on and off alot of times and also did a flow test with it.

So i started looking into electrical possibly, so i first bought a new fuel pump relay but, that didn't do the problem.

Also I have changed the Ignition control module with 3 Good working ones.

Anyone have any idea's why that could be kicking off? Possibly bad ignition? but everything else kicks one just not the fuel pump?

Any idea's would be great just possibly throw something out there?

Thanks

Jay

How many miles on your Jetta? And which fuel pump? Your car has two of them. There is one in the tank that feeds the main pump under your car.

Its a 89 Jetta Digifart. There is only one fuel pump on those systems. I think.

youll have a intake transferpump and then the pump under the car. have you tested that teh relay is sending power? it works some times but not other kinda sounds like a ground issue to me. throw a multimeter on the pumps to make sure you have voltage when needed and test those grounds. hell make sure the trigger voltage to the fuel pump relay isnt cutting out for some reason
