Well just telling people its a "special key" and seeing if someone else has the same one wont help you much. What kind of wheel locks do you have, the key is different for different brands of wheel locks obviously. Id talk to the shop that you are taking the wheel to, there is a possibility they have run into this situation before and could have some suggestions.

He has OEM Santa Monica rims which requite a single key that fits into his factory provided tire iron/wrench. If you lost yours, you have to either buy one from the stealership/local parts store/shop, or find someone with similar rims and use theres. I know mine for my 15's are different from LB's which are different from several other types. To my knowledge at least.

I think the keys are random and not necessarily paired with a wheel type or size. Going to the VW dealership is your best bet for a replacement. Get the correct part the first time. Think - what if you need it again? You'd be mad you didn't buy one at this point.

Your other option is if you find a key that works then get 4 oem lug bolts to replace the locks and be done with them.

VW used (from my knowledge) about 10 different lug "keys". Its pretty random but you might be able to find someone that has the same one. Take the locking lugs out and put regular ones in. I really doubt factory VW rims are very high on the list of things stolen in DSM.

The other option is to go to a tire store and have them either see if they have a match in their "box of keys" or they can get them off by other means. I lost the key to my lugs and Big O Tires up on 100th got all 4 locking lugs out in a couple minutes. Just make sure you have 4 lugs to replace the ones they take out.

You can have mine it might fit we couldn't find it so i replaced mine with normal ones. Then found the key under the back seat so i no longer need it.
If it does not fit yours just toss it.:D

i'm by no means a VW guy but ive jumped a lincon navigator by hooking directly to the starter...long story... i say jack her up and see if you can't go that route. however you will need that hood latch fixed still...

so you have tried pulling the hood release again,

does it make the normal pop or is it already there? what happens when you pull the tab under the hood for the unlatching does it move at all?

hood release broke off so i pull the wire with a pair of plyers, but the unlatch on the hood thats usualy their is gone. i tried messing with my fingers and that thing moves up and down and makes a click noise but it does no good to closeing or opening my hood all the way

I think this emoticon fits much better and sums it up nicely.
