If I were you I'd look where the leak is coming from. It can only be a few places. If it's really dirty under there then wipe it all clean and then wait til the next day and you should be able to spot the fresh leak.

A decent hydraulic jack isnt cheap, decent jack stands are. Use your jack that came with the car, and put it on jackstands. A hydraulic jack is just another thing to put on the list of items for your car you still haven't and won't ever buy.

My friend Andy would almost died from using that damn "widowmaker" as a last resort... NEVER use that damn jack your car came with unless it's in an emergency. It has killed so many people.

If you're lowered or not and plan on needing a decent jack at home, just buy a $40-$100 hydraulic jack from an auto parts store. If you're too low then drive your car up on boards to get clearance. :tu:

I meant just use it to jack the car up, slide under a jackstand, take jack out, repeat on other side, of course I know it's crazy for you to use that and go under the car. But getting a real cheap hydraulic jack isnt much safer sometimes...I've heard of plenty cheapo's going out on people. Probably not as bad a record as the widow maker jack, but still pretty unsafe.

normally you can go to sears and get a jack AND jack stands for a decent price.

I would first check around your oil pan drain plug. Or jack it up, lay some cardboard down, then you can at least have an idea of where it's dripping. Follow the drip back up to the engine.

I wouldnt even jack a car up on the damn widowmakers. We did it to chunks GTI and the car fell off and almost on top of me! buy the better jack. its well worth it.
