Today I got a couple envelopes with new parts.

First up is a Mk4 switchblade key fitted with an uncut Mk3 key. I bought this for $45 shipped from soccergk (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerouser?cmd=viewprofile&id=204415) on Vortex (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3080460).

The keyholder looks brand new and the VW logo is nice and shiny. I'll probably go have the key cut tonight.

The other items were a set of mirror delete plates for $10.50 shipped from nick187 (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerouser?cmd=viewprofile&id=263476) on Vortex (http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=3063571).

You can tell the delete plates were cut by hand, but all in all they were a great buy. They're not really rough or anything, but when stacking them side by side you can see slight differences. I can't comment on fitment until I actually put one on my car.

you're supposed to have at least two mirrors to be legal. haven't you ever seen the cheapo, no-options cars with only one mirror? lol

here are some Mk3 examples...

My first car didn't have a passenger side mirror. It was a 1974 Dodge, that might have been before passenger side mirrors were standard.... :o
