I boguht this a few months in anticipation of my wife selling her 2003 Jeep liberty but she REFUSES to drive a 5 speed. For what ever reason she thought id buy an automatic.

I bought it from Second Owner.
I have all receipts and documents since 1996
Just recently had Heater Core Replaced - $750
119k, Speed, sunroof, Tan leather (non-heated)
I installed Alpine 7897 Phantom Face Cd Player w/ Ipod Adapter.
Newer tires.

There is small dent above rear bumper, under deck lid.
Scratch on driver door.
Cruise Control does NOT work
Airbag light is on, but never looked into.

I would trade for a nice built motor - 16v ABA or so.

I just picked up this car 2 weeks ago. And then of course a car ive been trying to buy for almost a year finally came up for sale and i cant do both projects so im seeing if there is any interest in this car.

It started out as a Diesel and then was turned into a 2.0 16v turbo.

I drove 900 miles to go get it (round trip) its now in my garage.

I paid $1600 for this car and 2 days / gas to go get it.

Reasonable offers accepted or trade for other rabbit stuff.

I forgot to mention. Car has wiring still in the car, fuse box, ect. It has neuspeed springs and unknown shocks.

Also have New disc brakes all the way around. Front has new ATE slotted rotors and pads.

Really would like a 16v Built Engine!

Im relisting the car minus some aftermarket performance items to get the price down lower.

The body molding was SHAVED and filled in so there is are no moldings.


Neuspeed springs, with tokiko shocks / struts
G60 front 11" brakes with x-drilled rotors (custom brackets)
Rear Disc Brakes
Sway bars, stress bars, rear stress bar, lower stress bars,ect.
Euro Bumpers (front has crack)
Recarro Seats from 92 16v GTi - Matching rear seat!
Zender Rear 3 peice wing
Have Zender skirts - not painted yet or installed
ALso have Black cabriolet dash id throw in thats not installed

Battery relocated to the rear.

DRIVETRAIN
-2.0L 16V motor with less than 30K (balanced / blueprnted knife edged steel 2.0 crank/ steel rods and hyper U 83mm pistons makes 11:1 compression) Its a PL 1.8 bored out to close to 2.0 16v BLOCK,
-16V pressure plate with 8V disc / Stock 2h tranny
-Short shift kit
-both drive axles and CV's rebuilt last month
-Scirocco race TT downpipe
-Custom mandrel welded 2.25" exhaust with magnaflow 18" case w/ resonator (no cat)
-Shrick Cams 268/272 ($500)
-external front mount oil cooler
-71 deg thermostat
-75 deg fan switch



Rims are TSW 16x7 wheels w/ new 205/40/16 Tires ($1000) They are both brand new!!

The paint is pretty good. There are some spots on rockers and inside doors that is ' rubbing ' off and showing the white paint. The engine bay was not painted when the car was resprayed. There are a few minor spots of bubblin spots through paint. One by rear quarter window, 1 spot on the hatch, 1 spot on rear apron seam.

I just replaced the head gasket a few weeks ago. I added new shrick 268 272 cams. I had head resurfaced / rebuilt then used a metal Corrado G60 head gasket, ARP stud kit ($150) At the same time i upgraded the brakes to G60 11" Brakes, pads and X-drilled rotors.

The interior is a little rough. The carpet is dirty, headliner is held up with thumb tacks. The dash has a crack right above where the gauges are located. There is no stereo. Emergency brake does NOT work. Car was originally equipped with A/C but all of its componets have been removed.



$3500 would maybe consider trades but they would have to really nice. I have 4 rabbits right now , 2 projects that i want to complete before the end of the summer.

Second red rabbit racer is a projected i started.
83 rabbit gti - factory non- a/c, no sunroof. - has rust. Floor pan passenger side, pass side rear quarter (flare) rear apron, engine bay pass side - not bad, repairable for sure.

I removed the fenders to start my round light conversion (i have all the parts - new)
This car also has all Poly bushings, control arms, rear trailing arm, steering rack and engine mounts.
Also has scirocco 10.1 calipers w/ new pads and vented rotors and stainless steel braided brake lines
neuspeed lower sway bar
ABD short shift kit
Carpet has been removed along with door panels - no seats - only a nice near perfect dash and all dash stuff still there.
Black cabrio center console
This car currently has NO suspension on the car - its on jack stands

I also have new plastic euro bumpers for one of these two cars but i will NOT sell them seperate, only with one of the cars.
