Monthly GTG's

Hey All - :D
Lets work on getting a monthly GTG started. I think our first step should be to discuss days that will work, places, etc... I also would like to see if maybe every other month or so we do a GTG in eastern Iowa so that if the boys and gals over there don't feel like driving here every month they can still be an active part of PKG. gimme some feed back:D

the best days for me would be weekends, especially having to deal with classes and such during the week. something like a sunday night at 7 or 8pm.

or, i guess it would also be cool to do something during the week with a meal or something. like the last tuesday of the month we all meet at a restaurant with a big parking lot and then grab some food.

i'm basically down for anything. i love networking with other car people.

sounds good to me man. right now i'm working part-time down in Urbandale on Aurora right off of Merle Hay Rd. i work MWF from 1-5, but will be down there full time for most of December. the wife and i take trips down to des moines every once in a while to go shopping or out to eat. i'd be down with hanging out with you guys sometime though.

I am up for a GTG anytime. My schedule is all over the place since I work retail. But being a supervisor I make my own schedules. Let me know. I work in the Jordan Creek area and the Buffalo Wild Wings has a decent parking lot to get together and they have T.V.'s all over the place.

not sure what other people's schedules are, but what about meeting up on the last sunday of the month somewhere? say around 7pm at a central spot?

we could kick off the first one in january since christmas and new years will take up this month. i just threw out sunday because it seems to be a day that most people have off. i'd also be down for making it a day during the week as well, but it just depends on what people have free.

I think Sundays are pretty good. Especially when it gets nice out. Saylorville is sweet to go out to. Plus they have auto cross events out there through the local SCCA. Untill then some place out of the cold with a big lot that we can sit inside but still see the cars.

i think sunday is the best day imho because most people have off work, if u play a college sport(like me) theres usually nothing on sundays. theres nothing going on in town and if we schedule it a resonable tenative time like between 3-6 maybe? maybe earlier 12 ish? then everyone will be able to make it back for whatever on mondays.

Keep it on Sunday. Afternoons are better for those church going people. Also, those that work like me can get out easier on a Sunday.

as far as GTGs in eastern iowa go, we might be able to GTG at my family's shop back in monticello (its right between dubuque and cedar rapids). so anyone could tinker with their car if they needed to. otherwise i have a friend that also has a good size shop in iowa city and he also has a lift in his :tu:

so i'm just throwin those out for possibilities, because i dont like standin outside in the cold!

there's also a lot of great twisty roads out there --- i tired to do a eastern iowa tour north of dubuque to tour the twisty roads and parks up there on Euroblitz but couldn't get enough people on board....they all bailed :(

Hey we could get together at my place once a month maybe. got a pool table dart board folding poker table top and 3000 sq ft.
and in the summer we have parties. fire pit and all . had a couple bands last year.

Sounds like one hell of a plan :) When it gets nicer out put that fire pit to good use. Bigass cigars, beer and a fire pit > all.

Cigars are good but the 3 yr old would kick your asses if you smoked those in the house, sorry(always blame the kids not your wife that way people won't make fun of you). besides my wife and i are going to quit smokin Sat. it'll end with her coming in the house throwing a pack of smokes at me and saying fuckin smoke these you fuckin asshole.
that's what happened the last time . i tend to be a tad bit of an ass hole when not smoking.

forgot in the summer we have a 18' dia pool set up if any of you havekids , plus we have a play area outside swings and such.
