So my new wheels are not hub centric, not really a big deal, but they're heavy as sin. Do they make an adapter of some sort or a spacer that does non hub centric to hub centric conversion to take some weight off the lugs?

Dumb question but u want centering rings because the wheels are heavy? THE CAR IS HEAVY :poke:Yes you can, and should get the hub spacers.

When he said, "weight off the lugs", I'm sure he was referring to while he was putting them on.

Indeed I was just test fitting the rims with the car on jacks.

I bought something like these when I had my ADR wheels on: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/HUBCENTRIC-RINGS-RING-HUB-CENTRIC-AUDI-VW-DODGE-PONTIAC_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42614QQihZ017QQ itemZ270250268233QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

Gee, guess my joke didn't come across as one.

Well it looks like I might be returning these wheels. I can't find a hub centric ring or spacer big enough for the bore of these wheels.

Center Bore Diameter (in): 3.190 in.

I basically need an 82mm to 57.1mm ring. I called american racing, summit, earl's tire shop.

I don't want to have something machined to run these.

poo.

I doubt it would be toooooooo costly to have a set of aluminum rings turned, its a pretty simple operation.

Who makes the wheels? Call them maybe?

Sorry for the stupid question, but what does "non hub centric" mean?

Check with machine shops and see what it would cost...

DMACC has machining classes - maybe they'd do it cheap... http://www.dmacc.edu/programs/toolanddie/about.asp#machining

Thanks Tony,

I just placed an order with 1001tire on the custom made one, we'll see what they say.

"Sorry for the stupid question, but what does "non hub centric" mean? "

It's not stupid.

Factory wheels have a centerbore that matches exactly with the hub to reduce vibration by keeping the wheel centered. Wheels with the correct centerbore to the car they will be mounted on are known as hubcentric. Hubcentric wheels take the stress off the lug nuts, reducing the job of the lug nuts to holding the wheel to the car. Wheels that are not hubcentric are known as lugcentric, as the job of centering is done by the lug nuts assuming they are properly torqued down. Centerbore on aftermarket wheels must be equal to or greater than that of the hub or the wheel cannot be mounted on the car. Many aftermarket wheels come with "hubcentric rings" that lock into the back of the wheel to adapt a wheel with a larger centerbore to a smaller hub. These adapters are usually made of plastic but also in aluminium.

Thanks Sam for the great explanation! :tu:
