yeah thats cool...
i agree though - too expensive.
reminds me of the Alcantara RS4 e-brake handle.... $150 bucks.
you gotta pay to play....
speaking of e-brakes, mine doesn't work very well. :td: and by not very well i really mean it does't work at all.

lol thats funny
but to the original topic. that ebrake is very sexy if i could find the steering wheel to match, i would consider it. plus i have this feelin that it gives an extra 50 hp

Yeah.. AWD + flat Iowa roads = no real use for e-brake

Except in the winter when you want to slide around corners.....I just have to remember to turn off the esp first.

i was unaware that the Mk5s are equipped with telepathic powers....lol
Read the Wiki on ESP (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extra-sensory_perception).

ebrake + AWD = BAD... be careful loccusst (why not just goose the throttle anyways?)
front wheels turning, rears locked, that'll destroy your differentials

Ahh, one of the few reasons Haldex is better than Torsen, e-brake turns won't f up my diffs. That and I guess better fuel economy when cruising down the road....

only on direct drive cars it makes very little difference on the new AWD cars with viscos center differentials

I wish I had AWD.....then I would have a R32!!! Yipeee!!!
I just have front wheel drive GTI and must make it faster!! I need more power!! The ESP is fun around corners on gravel and snow......the ABS and EMS work together to keep you going straight. Also if you have factory equiped tires and floor it around a corner they somewhat kick in.

The e-brake will absolutely tear up DSM's AWD system.. and many of those have the viscous center diff :dunno:

DSMs have non variable awd (constant split) that could be part of it...all I know is evos, wrxs, most of the audis I have driven and my X5 don't have issues with it

I'm not so sure DSMs are non-variable.. either way any AWD system will be fine having the rears/fronts move without the others, it's only to a point though, should only be within a few ft (I'd think less than 10'). Hence why AWD cars need a flatbed and not a dolly. I'd leave the e-brake alone on these cars/evo/wrx/etc because it'll cost a shitload once something breaks.
