Really? Does it matter which HID fogs you get? I am still new to the whole HID thing.

Not really you just need the proper bulb base then pick your color to mach the factory lights (bmw is 4300k not sure on VW) easier then adam or his sister

It won't matter what kind of HIDs you get.. whichever is your preference.. yellowish to pure white to bluish 4300K-5600K is normally the brightest white and it starts getting blue after that normally.

When you say bulb base do you mean the right bulb to plug in to the original socket or are you talking balast and all that crap that HID uses. I always thought you had to beef up the wires and conectors because of the extra juice running trough them.

Hid uses LESS current then halogens and yes I mean the bulb to plug into the socket the balast is included in the kits I am looking at

also the higher color temp you have the less light is produced

you'll need the ballasts as well.. some people swear you need to put in larger wire, some people say you don't :dunno:

So just a kit that comes with the ballast and the proper bulb base.....got it. I am assuming you have to interupt the power going to the bulb socket and run it to the ballast then to the socket. Something I would have to do if I can't find a kit right?

The subject's been beat to death over at Audizine and AudiWorld.. there's gotta be something over on Vortex about it, I'm not really sure about installation.

there is a plug on the back of the bulb socket...cut it off and solder (not crimp) the wires to the power and ground on the ballast...now put HID bulb into housing and ziptie the ballast somewhere in the bumper done and done
