HELP! DEAD 735i

i need some help from you bimmer guys. i have an 88 735i in the garage right now... ecu was removed inproperly by its owner. (battery was not disconnected first). it will not start now... crank but no fire. my only thought is that the ecu was shorted or its memory wiped when he removed it this way. any fix ideas would be helpful. synchronization or replacement is probably the cure... ideas on cheap replacement options would be greatly appreciated as well.

Doesnt sound cheap to fix, Im not sure if it would work but maybe you could pull one from a wrecked car and swap it in. If that works that will probably be your cheapest option.

One of two things happened either the ECU is nuked or in lockdown mode

If it is locked up call the closest BMW dealer or independent BMW service shop and see if they can reset it

If it is nuked

Bavarian auto sport sells them for 250 each
