front on gti and gli use same bumper cover and fenders (accoring to my junkyard network) which means the grill is the same size as well.
i think it clips differently or something

that makes no sense if the car uses the same front end parts it wouldn't clip in differently because there would only be one set of holes in the bumper
stop being gay
lol - I am almost positive they are different grills

hmm an auto with 2 clutch plates... never heard of that :p plus it shifts faster than a manual. lol
oh and im not rich either! lol
and for adam.
the badgeless grill will most likely fit then at that time ur going to be like wow this is gay cause theres this big notch in my hood where the vw emblem used to be. gay! then ull have to buy a new hood without a notch, fill the notch with custom work, or fill it with that gay little replacement piece.
thats my .02 :D
i would be okay with the replacement peice. buy it jake. lets see if it fits. my $.03

My GTI logo is just glued on now....clips broke while back. I thought about getting the R badge but don't know......maybe just remove it. The VW logo should be black!!! The grill on the GTI and GLI are the same. The Rabbit is differant.

i know the letters are just glued on but the piece that holds the letters in place is part of the plastic
id be interested to see what it looks like without a dremel job.

The letters are 3M adhesived to the little black platform that is just clipped onto the honey comb grill. Carefull because it will break if you pry it off wrong.

I thought about getting the R badge but don't know.......
:nono:
No offense or anything, but you have a GTI, not an R. I really hate it when I see people take a GTI (which is a great car in its own right) and put all the R accessories on it (including a badge). I mean I can understand putting all the R body panels on, but leave the badge off please!
