View Full Version : Yet another Rabbit Gti - black w/ blue interior working A/c

I picked up this car a few weeks ago and havent had time to fix it yet its been sitting in front of the house..

5 speed
Snowflakes
Working a/c

I replaced ignition switch, so it has a key for door and key for ignition.
New battery.

Has a gas leak while it running back by the tank / pump. It only leaks when running, i just havent had time to put it on a lift and check it out..

Car was owned by a friend that worked at body shop. His co -workers found it funny to stick other cars emblems / badges on the car.. So there are quite a few of them on the car.

Rear apron rust, dent on driver side fender in the front. Paint on the hatch and hood and roof is buffed through..

$1000 as is.

i fixed gas leak..

tried a/c today and it aint working, might just need charged it blows out hot air..

yep starts right up and goes..

im not sure if i posted it in the original for sale ad.. but the ones i listed today on various sites i mentioned.

3rd gear sycro bad, its make a noise when going into 3rd, common problem with these 020 tranny's. Doesnt pop out of gear or effect it anyways other than being a little notchy going into gear.

The steering column bearing has came out, makes the steering column wobbly, driving it around no big deal. when parking and going slow its harder to turn. I have an extra column with good bearing ill include with my asking price.

I noticed a sqeek / rotating sound from passenger side front, not a wheel bearing but something up there was making noise, almost like rotor squeeking as it turns, not a cv boot or axle i dont think.

If I had the money I would take it off your hands.....would go good with my MKI Cabriolet. I always loved this style of VW....I want it. You should make Sam buy it instead of buying roller skates. lol

Fuel leak is fixed.

LOL...ok, let me think about it. That's a pretty good deal. Any other problems with other than what you mentioned? How are the tires? Anything that needs immediate attention?
