Products needed, 1pc of 1000g sand paper, 1pc of 2000g sand paper, water bottle full of H2o, rubbing compound and buffing compuond. Orbital for compounds recomended.

This was done on my Jetta, there was minor haze begining to form on the top corners.

Step one, sand the problem area with the 1000g while keeping it totally soaked.

Step two, same process with the 2000g.

Step three, apply rubbing compuond with the orbital, apply brute pressure, whipe clean reapply.

Step four, apply buffing compuond with orbital..... soon it is finished, wipe clean with microfiber. Bam!! new headlights!

* I taped off front fenders, less mess

I've had to do the same with the high mile passats. Prior to sanding/buffing they had even developed a "yellowness" to them that "sort of" came out.

Be interested to see what yours look like - I have to hit mine every few months with the 3m plastic "stuff".

I did this to my headlights aswell. Minus A LOT of elbow grease, I was pleased with the results.

I had this process done to my car in a similar manner.. however a new clearcoat was applied.. I just remembered after chunk posted his pics.. I honestly did not like the clearcoat that was applied, it seemed very grainy/paintbrush strokey and new headlights got bumped up on my list of priorities fast. Everyone elses look good though.. JEFF PICS!

yeah i love this! i also do the exact same method, it all depends on the headlights and how bad they are! if they are really yellow use 400 gt. er so to get the yellow out.. then use a buffer to polish them out.. and of course you should clear coat them after its all said and done. i have a new method of clear coating that looks great! :)

hopefully its better than the clearcoat used on my old heads.. you can run your fingers across and feel the grooves of the clearcoat.
