Hello people, I recently moved to Iowa and just today discovered this forum, it looks great and I can't wait until summer to meet some fellow dubbers in my area. Here's a pic of my ride taken last summer.

wHERE DID YOU MOVE FROM?
IT'S IOWA IT WAY STILL SNOW IN MAY ON RARE OCCATIONS.
I'D SAY IF IT'S NOT SNOWING ALOT NEXT WEEKEND YOU SHOULD GET IT OUT AND BRING IT TO THE GTG FOR PICS:tu: !
JUST ME THOUGH . MOST OF US (NOT ALL ) DRIVE OUR DUBS/AUDI'S ) IN THE SNOW .:D
lmao - i think it snowed twice last year..... you never know.:D
I moved from Arizona. And I love it here (reminds me of home). I would move back to AZ for anything. but the reason I dont drive my car in winter is because I saw few MK4 Jetta's all rusted out and I dont think I can do that to my car. I know it's not an expensive car but I like it a lot, my plan is to keep it so I'm beeing carefull with it.
I meant I would not move to AZ not I would!
also - did you see the Projekt German Gallery? You have a TON of room for pictures, albums, projects etc.... feel free!

IF YOU WASH THE SALT/SAND SLOPPY MIXTURE OFF BEFORE PARKING IT I THINGK IT WOULD BE ALL RIGHT.
http://forums.projektgerman.com/showthread.php?t=274
MINE IS DOING JUST FINE WITH SOME WASHES INBETWEEN.
I SHOULD CLARIFY I'M NOT TRYING TO GET YOU TO DRIVE YOUR CAR ALL THE TIME . JUST TO THE GTG IF IT IS NOT REALLY SHITTY OUT . THE MORE CARS WE CAN GET IN THE PICS THE BETTER.
welcome to PKG AdiB! i'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here. it will take you a little while to get used to the locals, but they're all good guys, lol ;)

Yeah I'll see how weather is on the 4th. I really miss driving the car it's been 2 months now since the last drive. So if the sun is up I'll prolly take it for a spin.

Why wouldn't you move back to AZ for anything? The g/f and I are thinking about moving there in about a year. I think Flagstaff would be cool.

I think Girls State Basketball turnaments is the last big snow storm time. I think that is towards March? Can't remember. Other than that it can be an odd state for weather. 20 degrees and snow in the morning followed by 70' and sunny in the afternoon. Welcome to the forum.

because now that he has found PKG he knows Iowa is the only place to be. just face it, AZ sucks. if we've already got two members on here that are moving TO Iowa FROM Arizona, i'd say that's good advice not to move there, lol. :D
Well the reason why I dont like AZ is because I cant stand that heat. Flagstaff gets cold but Phoenix was 120 in the summer. And you'd think it would be fun living in Phoenix because it's got 3M people, lot's of stuff to do, but when it gets so hot outside I didnt feel like doing anything. Another reason: I like black cars with dark interior. <- this + 120 degrees = hell!
And Iowa is great so far . Did you guyz all grew up in Iowa or you moved here?

Born and raised in Iowa.
You'll quickly notice the difference between dry heat and humid heat once July rolls around.. dry heat is like walking into an oven (AZ) but when it gets 100F+ here with humidity.. well i won't ruin it :) at least that weather is only about a week long here and not all summer like in AZ.
I want to find a happy medium wherever I live.. if I go down to AZ I can work alongside/one day take over my stepdads biz, work 10-3 M-F and mess with cars all day. I love snow but if I can live in warm weather year round and only drive 2hrs to see mountains then I'll do it :tu: CA/AZ seem perfect but CA is too expensive
Oh I'm ready for humidity. I grew up in Europe so I'm use to this kind of weather. That's way probably I like it here a lot more then in Phoenix.
How about your rides? Do any of you have aftermarker superchargers and turbos? I love fast cars, even though mine is not very fast. I saw someone has a very nice S4 on here. I know that's fast! and good looking!

I GOT AN AFTER MARKET ANTENNA?!?:banghead
JUST KIDDING WHEN I PUT NEW STRUTS/SHOCKS ON I'LL START WITH COILOVERS AND WORK UP FROM THERE. BY THE TIME I GET TO THE MOTOR I'LL BE DRIVING SOMETHING ELSE AND NEED A SHORT BLOCK:eek: TO START ENGINE MODS ON DUE TO MILES ON THE ORIG.MOTOR.:D

I've got a stock turbo Audi A4.. was big into DSMs before this (Eclipse/Talon/Laser) so I've had my fair share of turbo'd cars. What part of Europe are you from?

there is a guy on here (hdias4) who has a twin turbo s4 that he built with the help of some friends. now ive only heard him talk about it and never actually seen it, adam and i think its imaginary ;)
but its not he has pics lol. he is one of the admins of GOVAG (greater omaha vw/audi group)
I was born in Bosnia and grew up in Slovenia.
I always loved Audi cars. I had an A6 before my Jetta. That was an awsome car!!! I still miss it. But I have plans for jetta. I'd love to make it go fast. :D and of course look good too. but then agian I'd like to buy S4 or M3 which are my dream cars. I have until summer to decide, what I want to do.

Very cool, well whichever route you go you'll have plenty of help. We don't have any BMW owners as of yet but my neighbor has a ~98 M3 and I'm trying to get him to join (he's not much of an enthusiast).
jeff has an x5, and marcus wesley (he is almost never on) has a bmw.
