Anyone know where a sensor that tells you when the clutch is engaged would be if it is not on the pedal arm asembly?? I need to bypass it.

I'd double check the arm assembly.. other than that maybe the linkage?

If it's in the linkage then I am gonna have to remove the battery to get to it....and the intake. Great. I have checked the arm Assembly like three times. There is a spring loaded piston arm that goes into the firewall and above that is a adjustable rod that goes into the firewall.

You can try searching vortex/dubberzine/any popular VW site, they might have answered that Q already. I was just guessing, I've never messed with VW/Audi M/Ts.

usually if you find the brake light switch the clutch switch is right next to it and they are usually the same switch will usually be very close to the pivot if that doesnt work find the relay it energizes pull it out and jumper the pins

Don't get me wrong. I know how to do it. I have done several remote starts on manuals. There are not any wires coming from the pivot area or any where on the asembly. The brake or the clutch. I can get the brake at the brake wire. But the clutch is another issue. There are no electronics at all on the asembly under the dash.....I have never seen anything like this before. I am asuming it is in the engine bay, not sure why they would do that.....

Damn thing is in the engine bay attached to the master cylinder. Now I just need to get to it and figure out if I can trick this damn WAY TOO SMART car!!

if there is a plug on it just unhook it and stuff a jumper in

Typically that is what one would do....not this car. So I removed the battery, battery tray, intake, heat shield to intake and got to work. There are four wires....two white with red, one purple with white and one brown. Here is where the fun is. The wires are down in an area you need a trained monkey to do the work for you. There is not a plug...they seem to just go into the sensor, which senses the hydraulic fluid pressure. Typical sensor is a plunger style...again not on this car. The brown wire is negative and the two white with reds seem to have some resistance to them but are also negative. Now the interesting thing is that I wasn't able to test them very well because the battery has to be out of the car to get to them. All four wires do go back into the cabin of the car with the main harness. I tested them with a DMM by looking for continuity. I hooked one wire up to each terminal on the DMM and pressed on the clutch....nothing. I ran out of time so just put everything back together. I did however get the remote start completely installed.....except for the clutch bypass. I can at least use it as a turbo timer or if I want to run in to a store and not turn the car off.
