Let me get this correct. You have no money to fix your car, but you have money for an HDTV? Anyways, check here for the latest deals http://www.dealcatcher.com/coupons~search_word=HDTV~view_type=4~topsearch
I just bought my latest Toshiba 50" DLP there for $1099 that was at Onecall.com. Awesome place, fast shipping, and the best prices on alot of stuff.

My friend did it when he worked there. I had him buy me stuff all the time. I think the best deal I got was a set of $100 Bose headphones for $50. He bought his TV (50"+ Sony, usually costing 5k+ I think) for like 3k. Yeah he's rich, I hate him and his TV worth more then my car...

Its his money, he can do what he wants with it. Winter is coming - lots of time inside - might as well make it worth it :D.

Watch your ass on website purchases a lot of the manufacturers will not take warrenty from non authorized dealers which means if it brakes you are ****ed...also a lot of companies on the net misrepresenting remanufactured goods as new...also pretty common with best buy as thier store gets serious penalties if they take back large ticket items on return...so remember just because you got a really good price doesn't mean you are actually going to come out money ahead if something goes wrong

I picked up a 47" LCD Phillips for the "Family" room last week. Sams Club.
Best Buy Waterloo had nothing in stock and I wanted something fairly quick.
The surprise was being able to pick up a dozen HD channels on my basic Medicom when it auto programmed itself. (Took 45 minutes!)
First time I watched college Fball in high def.....nice.
We had picked up a small HD in the summer and I had it auto program itself. It only found 4 - 5 HD channels?
I thought HD was an upgrade from Medicomm? (Not complaining!)

if you have the new QUAM tuner, you can pick up all of mediacoms HD channels...i have heard a rumor that you can even pick up the PPV movie channels also...

^^^ Yep. I set up my grandparents TV with this great antenna (http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=14204&langId=-1) and it picked up additional HD channels. When somebody on their branch of the network got a PPV or on demand movie, it would come up on one of the many 1##.## channels.
The antenna gets a cleaner signal on some channels because your TV gets a pure signal and it isn't noisy like how some channels are that are distributed through all the amplifiers and branches of mediacom's network and everything...
I used to install home audio for Ultimate Electronics and that antenna is the BEST for indoor use. For outdoor antennas, I owuld reccommend the Terk "Square Shooter" (http://www.audiovox.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10001&storeId=10001&productId=14126&langId=-1) that is directional and mounts like a satellite dish.

if you have the new QUAM tuner
Yes - they both have that. Kind of explains it. I was hoping to see a PPV but no luck..
You have cable plugged directly into the tv and then an antenna plugged into the other input on the tv, correct? Do these antennas run on coaxial or what?
I have digital cable so I have a box so I can't get HD channels unless I downgrade to non-digital or get mediacom HD. Not sure what I am going to do yet...

Directv doesn't do HD for local channels so I use an antenna just for local HD channels and then Directv for the rest of my HD wonder :D
