We all know what factory side markers and tailights look like, so i won't be covering that here.........
Supplies:
1 can of rc window tint(can be picked up at local hobby store)
something to put the items to be sprayed on, i.e. newspaper or cardboard
1 flat head screw driver
1 can clear coat
deep well sockets or 6mm box wrench- b5 a4 at least(tools to remover your tailight)
patients
I am doing this on a b5 A4, so removal should be close to the same but maybe not exact..
First off take out the side markers. On the tailend said(not the front of your car) take a flat head screwdriver wrapped in cloth and gently pry out.... this should pop the light out, next disconnect it from the bulb....
I did this in my basement, cause it was hot and humid outside.... you can chose to do this where you are able to.....humidity is not your friend when working with paint. Follow this DIY and instructions on back of can.
My B5 a4 has a body color piece attached to the tailight you will need to use the flat head to pry the clips on the back side to remove that as well.
Lay out your item(s) to be sprayed on newspaper. Shake can really hard for about a minute or so after you break the little ball inside loose. Hold can about 8-10 inches from item(s) and start spraying, use a nice even motion(back and forth) a couple of times till clear item is dark. Don't worry it will dry lighter, if you wanna go extremely light less passes, extremely dark do 2 or 3 passes, wait about 10 minutes and do the same. The paint i used was dry to touch in about 5 minutes or so. Then clear coat them, i didn't cause i am not sure i will want it there in a yr.
here are pix of the finished products and for those skeptics that might be out there yes you can see the lights in the day time
