Hey guys, Chovi and I where talking and we would like to get a monthly get together, like hanging out in a parking lot or a trip to the beir stubbe or what ever you guys want. It may be fairly impromptu at first but we could get a schedule together fairly soon. If you guys want P.M. you name and phone number and I will call you with the details as they arrive. Any ideas will be greatfully appreciated.

This is a great idea. Although I would ask that you consider this to be weekly instead of monthly. Even though not everyone will be able to go weekly there is a greater chance that if we do it weekly that sooner or later we will have a big group down there. That and it will be much easier to remeber names if we see eachother weekly.

Bi-weekly might also be another good choice. That way it gives people time to plan around other activities and it keeps you excited about the next event. Once things really start picking up in the QC (with maybe double the current amt. of QC members) then going into a weekly format would probably be better.

I'd say to start with every other week until things really start moving, but ultimately its you guys' call. :tu:

Yeah I think that we have just enough members that if we did a bi-weekly that we would have people show up. We could do like a tuesday and saturday thing or whatever wroks for you guys. I liked meeting downtown before although the Figge parkinglot probably isnt big enough unless we're meeting at night. I know that a bunch of Prelude guys use the North Park mall parkinglot as a meeting point. The parking lot behind Sears and VonMaur has plenty of space and seems like a good place to meet up atleast. Just a few ideas....

Bi-Weekly is 2 weeks a month, We need more input on where to go and such, I don't know that the mall is a good idea because like you said the prelude guys hang out there. Also security might not like it, but I don't know It needs to be more than you and I throwing out ideas lol.

Mmmm pizza, I know it can be kinda pricey but Wiseguys on 53rd has a back room that Im sure they would let us chill in. K's Merchendise does not leave their parking lot lights on anymore. I just think that might be a bit much for as few members that exist. You guys are welcome to do it however you want, I just wouldn't want people getting bored/upset if everyone couldn't attend twice a week. It seems like a pretty steep commitment. Once more and more people start joining I think it'd be feasible to do something every week (on Saturday afternoons, for example, etc.) at the same place. That way you can build some familiarity with the group.

What would be great (decent weather permitting) is to have a cookout (grill) and maybe have a fire going too, strictly for warmth.

I know Blackhawk State Historical Site has decent grills on site, and they have a shelter where a fire could be built, plus good views of the river, nice trails, parking lot is small so we could do a photoshoot with all the cars, etc.

That is my idea...but, IN GENERAL, it seems like most people are thinking:

Sat. the 17th around noon, place to be determined, but hopefully somewhere we can grill, that might have a shelter or something for us to get out of the wind.

Alright Guys GREAT G2G this time, Now I'm thinking the third saturday of every month would be a good time to have a G2G, My VW club does it on the third sunday of every month so it should be easy for me to remember lol It's our G2Gs so like always everyones input is appreciated. As far as I can tell the date is fine for me but my only thought is that we might want to try and find the best date at the beginning of each month that fits with the most peoples schedules. I had a ton of fun at the GTG over the weekend, hope we can do it again soon.

Yes but if you have a set date every month people can set their schedules around that date, not only that it is easier to remember.

I sold my aircooled to put a downpayment on my house up here and now I have a 98 Passat. Would like to come to a G2G when you guys nail down a time and place.:rockon:

Alright, do to a lot of suggestions by various members I'm thinking the 1st and 3rd sat of every month. With a more informal meeting on the first where ever and then a more formal meeting at the beirstubbe on the 3rd sat. So like in december it would be December 1st where ever whenever and then December 15th at the beirstubbe noon. Let me know what you all think.

Alright, do to a lot of suggestions by various members I'm thinking the 1st and 3rd sat of every month. With a more informal meeting on the first where ever and then a more formal meeting at the beirstubbe on the 3rd sat. So like in december it would be December 1st where ever whenever and then December 15th at the beirstubbe noon. Let me know what you all think.
