'85 Golf

My brother lives up in Minneapolis and is looking to sell his 85 Golf. The body is in bad shape, but it has a strong motor for what it is. It is a 5 spd with many new parts in the motor. The interior is pretty clean for being 20+ yrs old. I believe that it only has 113,000 or so miles on it. I don't have any pics right now. He is only asking $500.00 for the thing. If my wife would let me I would buy it in a heart beat, but she says I don't need another project. I am going up there is weekend and would be willing to bring it back to Iowa if anyone is interested in picking it up in a hurry.

How bad is "bad shape" for the body? Like lots of rust? Or beaten up and dented?
