if ne one finds nething on a 20v head swap (1.8t) or a 16v head swap (vr6) let me know

ps. forgot for a 2.0l aba obd2

OrangeDUB

if you do the vr6 swap you should DEFINITELY go for the 24v, not the 12v (VW never made a 16v vr6, not sure if I misinterpreted what you wrote or not..)

swaps are the shizz :D

What the hell are you talking about? You think you are going to put a 1.8T or VR6 head on your 2.0? Or are you talking engine, harness, ecu, etc? Why are you blowing money before suspension, I guess you don't take advice too well. :td:

Actually, I've also read about doing 16v or 20v head swaps on ABA 2.0L motors so his question was valid.

well, if that is the case, then he's still wrong about the VR6 head.

Vr6 would be a 12v and it's made for a motor with a couple too many cylinders for your 2.0.

I would lower it and get a turbo kit for the aba.

Why the repaint? Thought the white pearl looked good? Could money be spent elsewhere instead, or was the paint job bad?

STÖDER
09-19-2007, 04:56 PM

Why repaint? The pearl white looks good. Why waste the money when the paint isn't even a year old or so? Put the money towards something else...interior, engine, etc. Just my thoughts.

well the winter modding begins

-stock wheels are back on with brand new tires
-ordered new mounts should be in soon
-just bought crown's vr lip " " "

not sure what to do next thinking of buying some springs not too low just to get rid of some wheel space and not to hit the snow banks

Good stuff. I think you should consider tradeing your summer wheels in for a nice set of 5 spokes. Your stockers look pretty good so I can only imagine what a nice set of 5 spokes would look like.

if your still thinking about doing a head swap i would vote 16v head. you can pick up a complete 16v for about 400 bux and then you would have all the parts needed to swap the head. plus you can run C2 awsome 42# injector software. this will let you reach your HP goals with out breaking the bank

Have you trimmed your bumper yet? You need to shave off about 1/4 inch of plastic all the way around the small lip on the bottom of your bumper.

If you HAVE trimmed the bumper already, you just need to stretch the lip around the bumper more and push on it harder. Check from the back side and see where the tabs are going. One of them may be hitting something. It fit on CROWN's car fine and I was there to help him install it, so it should fit your car.

and the text.....

"You will also need to trim about 1/4" - 3/8" off of the front edge of the lower bumper's lip, to allow the spoiler to sit closer to the bumper. The trimming will allow the tabs to snap in more securely, as well as allow the side tabs to be seated further back."

I need to hear it, I can only imagine what it sounds like now, it sounded pretty good before. Cheap isnt always the way to go, save up and buy H&R, the price isnt that different. Buy it right, buy it once. Thats a good policy to follow, you will be much happier if you get the good stuff right off the bat.

Talk to 28 I helped him do a vr6 into a mk3, it was so easy, literally plug and play. But we did have a donor car, five lug swap and everything. You can take a look at the build on that "other" forum. Its a golf CL that originally had a 1.8 from mexico. We are currently building a new motor for it with a big valve head and all the fixings. I would be sure to get a hold of 28 for parts though, he has a insane amount of VW parts.
