So Pete from Lithia came over since he is a walking talking Bentley and said it should run after doing a tune up and replacing the gas and timing belt ....so with that said looks like a plan for sat.:tu: And James has recieved his first real part for his car T.J. gave him a battery for his b-day....Thanks TJ!

So far james wants to leave the rec. lights. Shave the drips. leave the rally stripes and the rub strips alone. New paint job a little body work.

So after much time trying to find metric fittings and parts to fix the laeking rusty failing fuel system in the Rabbit i went a diff. route.
I got 20 feet of 180 PSI fuel ingector rated gas line. and ran all new lines from the rear to the salvagable part of the hard line and attached it with EFI rated clamps.
The result is a running GTI. So next on the list is cooling the fan won't kick on, we may jump it to a toggle right now just to work out some bugs. it stillruns rough. so we may take the belt off and re install it.( pete swapped the wires on the dist. around to make it run, so it is really 180 deg. off still.)
I am also digging through the Bentley to see what other adjustments we need to do. These are complicated little motors so it may take awhile, have to learn as we go.
Thanks to Zach,Kai, & Brian for hanging and jumping in when i would get frustrated and feel like beating it with a hammer :D Joking No hammers where involved.

NICE! I've got one just like this. I'm putting a built 2.0 ABA in mine. These are fun cars to drive especially with the close ratio gearbox. Good to see some MK1 followers out there!:tu:

So I Re timed the Rabbit yesterday ans while it was runnung i tapped on the injectors with a wrench. All af a sudden it went from sounding like a tractor to souning like a real car. So Kevin and Pete's tutalage steered me in the right direction as far as the injectors go.
Next i will move on to the fan and brakes James wants to get greasy so since it his car we will let him:D
We also have to replace the valve cover gasket, and track down the exhaust leak. So with that said stay tuned. We will get vidioe of it this week end so you all can here it run:tu:
