Jason, make sure you order new axle bolts, Loccusst mentioned it earlier and it appears they are one-time use bolts. You can get them from ECS: click me (http://www.ecstuning.com/stage/edpd/pagebuild_v2.cgi?make=Volkswagen&engine=2.0T&model=Golf%20V&submodel=&category=Drivetrain&subcategory=Driveshaft)

just a quick couple of question I thought of while working on homework :sly:
first I think my car has a tire pressure monitoring system don't know if locust has this and knows if it is a problem or not when changing suspension, but just thought, better figure it out before hand.
second with the auto leveling headlights, they shouldn't need adjusting after lowereing. car should just be lower and the lights just remain level right?
sorry for the questions just got to thinking about them and decided I better ask.

edit/ did a little bit of searching seems the Tire pressure monitoring thing is just a antenna attached to the valve stem on the tire and should not be a problem and the headlight leaveling seems to only be a problem with people on coilovers who add a tiny bit of rake to the car. this was only a tiny bit of reasearch and would still like to know others opinions. just don't want to be unpreparied for the suspensions install. Thanks for everyones help, plus I may have a suprise for those that show up :sly:

You're correct the tpms is just a wireless system with each inside your tire on the valve. Your headlights should be good also.

They should get here in time as long as they were in stock. I ordered my stuff on Wednesday afternoon and it is getting delivered today.

07GTI
09-10-2007, 01:39 PM
they said they had to get them from a local supplier but didn't know how long that would take 1-3 days and then they would ship them out so they might just be shipping on wed or thur. so I hope they make it by friday

Congrats! It'll look great with a nice drop.

As far as the auto-leveling headlights go - occasionally I will get a 'dipped headlight' warning. It doesn't happen very often and when it does, 90% of the time i can shut it off and restart and its gone.

MKV's are more of a pain suspension wise than a MKIV. We did a little VAG-COM work on the GTI and on a new Passat as well, thats all we did that day though.

hehe, my brake pads dirty up my wheels in about 2-3 days. Its virtually hopeless. Maybe the new pads/rotors will work out better.

i DIDN'T get busted for no front plate, but I don't have the money to afford a $60 ticket for not having it on either. Maybe once I have some more breathing room in my budget I'll just ditch the Iowa plate altogether. For the time being I just play it safe and only lose the Iowa plate at GTGs and photoshoots.
