What's the deal on those, then? Does someone have a crap-ton of them to hand out, or do we need to supply our own?

I picked up a pair of Uniden GMR1035-2 walkies from Wal-Mart for about $18.

There are a couple other people with pairs of them as well (USAC, chuNk, turboA4, etc.) Feel free to pick a set up for yourself, or you can probably borrow one from somebody who already has them.
