So my car was having problems starting and I purchased a new battery, started great! Then then two days later I tried to start it up and yet again it was dead. So I had it jump started took it to interstate battery and they tested the alternator, everything was fine. Last night at 2a.m I decide to go grab something from my car and I open the door and what do I find? The turbo timer was on as well as all the other various console lights in my car. Has anyone else had this problem or know what the remedy is? I checked the wiring harness and everything seemed to be in check so I'm kind of at a loss......

Ugh, I hate electrical stuff. Is the turbo timer wired into your ignition, or..?

I think you may have a short somewhere that would be draining the battery.

A short would also blow a fuse, which can cause funny things to happen liike your dash lights being on. I had a 91 bravada and when the radio fuse blew the dome lights would stay on!

Check for blown fuses first then let me know what is happening. There may also be an intermittent problem with your alternator/charging system that the guys would not have been able to see... check for loose bolts/connectors throughout your grounding wires as well as the heavy gauge wiring that goes to your alt.

I am not trying to be a "know it all" I just won't be on here much today so I wanted to say alot to try and help :D

its possible to have a short from the constant 12v+ into another switched circuit and have the short power items its not intended to or turn on a realy etc. do a current draw test on the car and see what the draw is once every thing shuts off it should be less than 100mili amps and if its more just start pulling fuses untill you find the source of the draw. then isolate whats going on.

ok. do as everyone said above especially checking heavy guage wiring for faults, corrosion, missing. (missing body grounds can play hell in electrical oddities. you could chase them for days) if you find all that to be good and you found your turbo timer and dash lights on that night its very possible that your turbo timer itself is at the end of its life. it controls ignition voltage to certain parts of your car in order to run it after you walk away. i have seen them fail and turn back on after you have verified they do indeed shut off as they should. this would cause a major battery drain. let us know what you find

If you don't have an amp meter this could take a while. If you can get one, then you can also full fuses one by one with the car turned off.

This is how I found a broken cig lighter socket that didn't blow fuses but could drain a battery over a 24 hour period. I must have jambed the cell phone adapter in to hard one day.

Good luck! At least it's not the middle of winter when this S%$t normally happens to me!
