Ok guys. The last supra I had fell threw and really pissed me off. But i managed to find another in phoenix, AZ. The car got here tonight thank god i was going nuts. Costed me $800 to get her but it was well worth it. I still dont have the title for it. Its being shiped when i send the owner the rest of the money. My parents really dont want me to drive it but i need to get on her once so i might take it out for a quick pass down the highway tomarrow.

you should not need to do the Safc if you are just upping the boost you need that if you are planning on changing the injectors or the MAFS...the 7MGTE is a sturdy motor but does have issues with popping headgaskets on high boost so keep the boost increases to a minimum until you have the money to upgrade the headgasket...the exaust will net you a decent performance increase...get new brake pads (hawk, pagid, porterfield etc) and some decent crossdrilled brembo rotors because the one thing those cars don't do well is stop due primarily to thier 4000 or so lb curb weight. if you are going to lower the car lower the whole thing...dropping the front and not the back will do two things 1. make it look like you are always driving down a hill and 2. unload the back end of the car making the bitch really difficult to handle because the weight transfer to the back of the car will not happen properly so you will constantly lack traction. Also an upgraded intercooler will do a lot more on a turbo car then a better airfilter will.

I'm planning on going to 550cc injectors when i upgrade my fuel system along with a lexus afm. it also has arp head studs in it and a metal head gasket so i should pop a head gasket. I'm not planning on doing autocross. I've grown up around drag racing and some street racing so thats what i enjoy doing but i plan on doing the suspension and the brakes in the future (it has brand new brake pads and rotars. im only 18 and im starting college this far so im starting to become broke. The intercooler is sapose to be good up to 500 horse but the hard piping on the car stock isnt very good so i'm planning on eventually uping it to 2 1/2 stainless so i can weld everything together and hopefully eliminate a bunch of cuplers.

instead of welding upgrade to 5 layer couplers and Tbolts...engines move too much to really like welded IC pipes

thanks for the advice. Thats what ill do. I talked to one of the other supra guys in norwalk and he thinks the front springs are made by suspension techniques which are not long in buisness. I think i might end up getting the eibochs all around just to be on the safe side.

Clutch, Alot of wear! It is a spec like the guy said it was. But i dont think its a stage 3 because its not a 6 puck its an organic disk which doesnt hold **** for torque!

I thought i'd give you guys an update since its been awhile. I went to put the engine back together last week following all of act's intructions. When i was torqueing the bolts fromt he pressure plate to the flywheel one striped out. I taped that whole out but it wouldnt hold. Later on I learned that i was only sapose to torque the bolts to 15 lbs when the insturctions said 30. So i ordered a new one from fidanza and it will hopefully be here by the weekend.

The gunmetal wheels look great! Now let's get those rubstrips taken care of.....
Newgen
11-30-2007, 05:34 PM
I like the rub strips. They match the wheels lol. I'm gona tint the windows next. It needs bigger injectors next to.

12-01-2007, 03:23 AM
Glad this is working out for you with all the headache of just getting the car. I agree on changing out the rub strips or getting them painted to match the car. Also, happy you put it away for the winter. I remember when I got cought in a snowfall in my '91......couldn't go over 20 without the rear end wanting to come around. What is your thought on the amber lenses? Keep them and go for a JDM look on the car or go smoked or clear?
Newgen
12-05-2007, 04:20 PM
I havnt decided on the lenses. I might do smoked corner lenses and jdm fog lights. I have a bunch of performance still I still have to take care of before then. My turbos goin out already I guess they dont like the boost i'm runnin. So i'm sending it in and having it rebuilt and upgraded to a 60-1 turbine. Then I need 550 cc injectors, new turbo elbow and new intake pipe. Then ill probley do some exterior work and be done with the car. I wanna buy a 1990-1992 shell and 1jz swap it with a stall converter and shift kit. I want it to be a pure drag car.
Loccusst
12-05-2007, 07:32 PM
Are you thinking ceramic bearings for the turbo? The drag car is definately a plan....good one too, make sure it is one without the Targa top if you can so it is lighter.
Newgen
12-06-2007, 03:14 AM
I'm not sure what i'm doin with the turbo yet. I need to do some research and find a recommended shop. Ya i'm going to attempt to find a hard top or at least one that has a sunroof. But thats way in the distance I need to get the supra I have all sealed up.

Hey thought i'd update you guys again. I tore my car apart during xmas break and I'd been having some issues with burning oil in boost. I came to find out I have around an 1/8 in and out shaft play on my turbo. I was sure what to due at that point cause the one I want is $700. Well recently my great grandma passed away and left me $1000 so I ordered the turbo today and i'm ordering my turbo elbow in a few weeks.

I doubt it I have to much money in 7m mods. I'm buying a shell eventually. Probley 1986.5-1989.5 hardtop n/a and do a full turbo swap and probley a 350 turbo with a stall converter and shift kit for the transmission.
