I got a referee ticket the other day! It was soo gay, My husband and I were waiting for the light to turn green and a cop pulls us over! Anyway he says that my exhaust is the reason why there's a whole in the ozone layer! :sly: hahahaha!!!
Soo he makes my husband pop the hood and he gives him a ticket to see a ref!!!
BUUUUUUUUTTT!!!! He wrote down 2DOOR HONDA CIVIC!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! HOW THE HECK DO YOU CONFUSE A WIDE 4DOOR EVO WITH A 2DOOR LIL CIVIC!? ANYWAY......He also wrote HISPANIC and well....my husband is white/asian!!!
I can eather put my car back to stock, or I can fight it!!
I kinda don't want to fight it cause i don't want them to be dicks and just make things worse!! *That's the way they are here*
My friend Steve said I should go to the DMV and tell them someone stole my plates!!! Go to court and tell them that someone stole them and I guess it was a honda!! HAHAHA....which is not such a bad idea!!
Sooo....Have any of you guys had this problem before!? Any ideas or advice wouod be gladly appreciated!! :D

That is ghey...
I think I would fight it...I mean, if the Court sees the cop confused an Evo with a Civic (HUGE apples vs. oranges comparison) they could throw it out due to the cop not even taking the time to find out what the car actually is yet alone bugging you for something so remedial...it's not like you were running the red light or racing someone...
The cop must pull over so many ricers he automatically assumed it was a Civic... :sly:

The hell with the car crap. Tell the judge and the officer that you find him calling you hispanic EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE. Threaten to to slap them with a racial lawsuit....Problem solved, you walk.

So what is a ref. ticket anyway? I dont think Ive ever heard of one. I would definitly fight it. The cop gave you enough ammo with writeing down the wrong kind of car and calling your husband hispanic that you could easily fight it and win.

There's a sticker they put in the back of the ticket.......This is EXACTLY what it says.....
STATE REFEREE CERTIFICATION
REQUIRED - NO OFFICER SIGN-OFF
VEHICLE MUST BE REMOVED FROM THE ROAD IMMEDIATELY AND MAY NOT BE DRIVEN UNTILL IN COMPLIANCE!!
It's sooooo super gay!!! but yeah looks like we're going to fight it and hopefully we'll win, if not then we'll jsut go back to stock so that it can pass smog and just pay the fix ticket fine!!
Thanks for all the ideas, they're really good!! :tu:

does it need to be refd by a state office? if not i may have some connecitons that can help on getting her refd without changing parts...This is why I will never live in an emissions testing state...out here you can drive a burning dumpster down the street as long as it has headligts, brake lights, and turn signals

So true Jeff!!! I have seen some weird stuff going down the road here in Iowa.
Your experiance in Cali is exactly why I have decided to never move there. I don't understand why the Cali HP and cops have such hard ons for modified cars. I have read alot on this whole thing and there are some seriouse lines being pushed with our rights as a U.S citizen. I can't believe some of the things they let them do in the sate to motorists. Just because a cop doesn't agree with your carb legal intake or modified item he can still send you to a check point. I think that many of the aftermarket manufacturers are still supporting the free check areas to combat all of this.

It's not just California that gives drivers grief...there are many more out there. I just hope Iowa doesn't turn anal about emissions, mods, etc. :td:

My boss grew up in San Diego, he told me that to get a driver's license in CA, you have to sign a waiver which states you may NEVER sue a law enforcement officer. WTF?
