Iowa City GTG

From another thread it was decided that the Iowa City area seems to be a fairly central location for the members here. We will need the help of the local members in that area to get this GTG planned (location, food, cruise route, etc.) but we ought to start talking about dates now.

Please vote for ALL of the days you would be able to drive to Iowa City for a GTG. :drive:

I don't get saturdays off, well, I get one, but as far as I know it is reserved for something else in August, and that other one I get in September is going to the Suspension GTG. I know I'm not the only one in PKG, but that's where I stand in being able to come :D

I can get a saturday or sunday off fairly easily....so I will go with whatever works for the majority.

Yesterday after work I went for a little cruise north of Iowa City. I found a shelter, with large parking lot right on the lake at sugar bottom. NO GRAVEL..sorry I'm anal :) The road to get their is about as crazy as the park we cruised through for the QCVDUBs GTG. I scouted out a two lane blacktop highway that is a beautiful cruise that loops back around the res, at the end we would actually drive over the dam, reallly reallly cool. The dam would be a cool place for group photos.

That is awesome man! Thanks for scouting out the area. I think this GTG will really be a blast. Plus, it could be the first time that some of our eastsiders meet the westsiders. :tu:

You missed out on the Dubuque GTG then...the backroads to Bumblef**k, Egypt are quite twisty. :)

i am excited for this since i know that IC has so many good roads around the area!

i work almost every saturday till 3 (it sucks, but its good extra mod money), so i dont care what weekend its on so long as its on a sunday!!! :tu:

i'd prolly make a weekend trip out of this and head there saturday night, so if any of the local IC crew would like to meet up the night before for some fun or a pre-BBQ that'd be fun :tu:

Sorry my puppy and moving have been taking up all of my time for the last week....hence no time to roam the site late at night :mad: .

I am moving into my new house this weekend, so I will have more room for people to crash the night before the GTG. My house is a block away from the bars...but I don't want to go get toooo ****ty the night before (hangovers > me)
