I thought it might be nice to have people put a listing of any kind of specialty tools that they have and are willing to let people borrow/use when working on their cars. That way people don't always have to go out and buy a $30 tool to use once and leave sitting in their toolbox unused. Or if you have a need for a tool post it up and see if someone has what you need.
This is the major stuff I remember I have currently, will add to it if I remember more...
1.5 ton capacity, low profile floor jack with side lift jack pad (allows floor jack to lift on pinch rail)
Jackstands (2)
1/2" drive electric impact wrench
14 piece metric deep socket set for impact wrench
VW spindle spreader (needed for MKIV front suspension, possibly others)
Many metric/standard sockets and wrenches
3/8" drive torque wrench
1/2" drive torque wrench
Metric and standard hex key sets
Metric 3/8" drive hex sockets
Partial ownership of a VAG-COM :D
Various other odds and ends...
If you would like to use anything on the list let me know. :tu:

so how much would you charge me to help me change my springs and lower the car a bit? You and me should get together, because I have few questions regarding suspension...or we can do it over PM or something...

I was at Kevins shop for the first time today and he does have all kinds of toys. He will be doing my timing belt and all the other things in a month or so.

So have you been getting the know how with the newer models Kevin? I would rather take my car to you than the stealership if possible.

boy, just saw my car again today. all four wheels off, so I had a chance to examine the springs. The rear ones look difficult to take off as they are not mounted on the shocks, but completely different place. but then again, those might be easier to do than the regular ones.

Yes I've been staying progressive ( I have to as I'm still a few years away from retirement ) I can take care of all your maintenance needs. But since I'm an "indy" I can't do any factory warranty work. However I can and do make repairs to customers cars with aftermarket warranties

Cool, yep just maintenance type stuff. Warranty stuff they can do since it doesn't cost me anything :D

Backs are the easy ones ;) Just unbolt on the bottom of the shock and the control arm will drop a little. Press down a little more on the control arm and bam springs come out.

Word. Just about every VW rear suspension I have seen is really simple. It's the fronts that give the most trouble, especially on Mk5s since you have to take off the entire hub (ask Loccusst ).
