Well, someone in the family managed to lock both keys in one of the passats. What's it take to get a key made?
VIN?
Proof of Insurance? Registration locked in car. Local dealers know me.
CCM acts up, intermittant self locking....time to fix!

You would think if the local dealers know you, they could get one made from the VIN alone.
I tried to get one for my mk2, and they looked at me like I was crazy.

Mine does this also...I take it this is covered under warranty? I need a new driver's side door module as well.

They're locked in the car? How about calling a locksmith to pick it with a slimjim for $25?

We'll try Withams first...key may be expensive. Having had the passat door assy apart many times over the years, I hate to think of what the slim jim coud do to plastic door latch assy. (Over $100 in parts)

Thanks - (Not sure if it would work?)
Key on order - $60.
Son took '99 Passat to summer fest in Milwaukee instead. It's coming up on 210k+ and I still never think twice about taking it on a long trip..
It's hot out. Perfect to treat the ragtop on the tt......
