Thanks and the best part is i might be picking up another one in the near future as a beater depends on what i can get for a price from the guy. maybe when i get some more free time ill post some pictures of my corrado build that i dont own any more

You've taken this thing from a stock Mk2 to something sleek and completely redone. Did you do the bodywork/painting yourself? I've got some shaving I'd like to do on my car in the future....

But yes, congrats on building a killer car. I'm really impressed with the interior and the badgeless grill. :tu: Can't wait to see it in person sometime.

I love it!!! There is an MKII GTI near by and it's been sitting there for a year and i have asked the guy at least 3 times for now if he want's to sell it and his answer is always no! I guess it's his sons and he lost his lisence, he said he will be getting it back soon. I would love that car but he wont sell it. Should i go steal it? lol Any ideas how can i make him sell it? I need to me more anoying maybe he will get tired of me asking and sell it at the end.

i did not do the final paint but did do alot of the prep my self in the shop that was painting the car. ive done basic body work before i did all the prep on the hood fromhammering out any dents to spraying primer and filling imperfectiongs. i had to shape a new peice of metal on the corner of the hoods leading edga and weld it in. i will be redoing the hood or another hood i have so i can shave the hood vents and washer sprayers.

The interior work just takes pateints. ive done very thing from door panels, headliners and leather kits at work and i have a spare dash for a lil suede love some time soon i hope.

Getawayfrom me if your looking for a MKII find one from as far south as you can itll be well worth it. and watch vortex youll get a better deal.

all the subframes, a-arms, rear beam brake nuckles etc have been sandblasted and painted.

the front brakes are 11" from a G60 corrado with a 22mm master cyl

full prothane bushing kit.
Good ridge ss brake lines
H&R springs
and some other simple parts the real mods will be done with the VR6 swap since the car will bascily be completly torn apart again.
full electrical swap to CE2
new dash
non-a/c heater box
stereo with some kind of door build up for componets that will mimik the lines of the factory map pockets
maybe recover the door panels to complete the suede theme
false floor in the rear
new rear window with no defrost grid
its not even close to being finished thats the scary part

Tyler, I freaking loved your corrado. Unfortunately I wasn't around when you sold it. I would have loved to owned that car. Oh, and sorry I didn't talk to you much at buffalo wild wings the other night. I was completely drunk. Oh, and on another note, have you ever noticed how many of us car guys are at BWW every thursday night for 50 cent bonless? It's like, crazy, I think?

awesome car, but dynamat is WAY too expensive!! I covered my floor in a couple of layers of eDead V3 from elemental designs and its amazing!! I'm going to do more of the panels as I do more to the car.

yea its a 97 e36 m3 5 speed. its my dads daily.

and mura1 dynamatt is expensive but it helps when you install at shops and get hella discounts. i wish i had not used dynamatt but of well the cost was right. i think i have about 50 bux into all the dynamatt in the car :D

I bought a gallon of the stuff for $50 and still have A LEAST a qt. left. The floor pans have 2 payers and the hatch area has 3!! Its paint on stuff, but they also make the stick on mat like stuff.

But like I said you have an awesome car! (rough mood tonight, its been a long week, sorry for kinda coming across as a d*ck)

Great build thread Tyler! I like the fact that there is a vr6 being prepped for this beast. Is the motor going to be in by september next year?

I didn't realize your car was that clean.

The VR swap should be sweet. Doing any performance mods while its out? I am in the slow process of prepping a motor for my 93 golf VR. So far I have schrick 268's, light weight lifters, big valve ported head, ported exhaust manifold and downpipe, cut/ported intake manifold, lightweight flywheel, light weight crank pulley, ps delete, ac delete, and I think that's it for perf mods on the motor.

once you get that VR in there we should go to cedar falls for some runs :drive:

i was thinking turbo but plans may be changing slightly due to the stupid $$ people are asking for every thing i need for a OBDII coil pack set up. so at this time any mods are in hiding untill i can iron out the plan for the car

just a little update the holidays kinda slowed things down. but i got the new engine mount made up. assembly will be 100x better using the rear engine mount now i can put basicly the whole motor together on the stand including clutch and timing chains

OrangeDUB
01-07-2008, 12:09 AM
That is reassuring that at the moment my motor is mounted using the same bolt holes as you used on the block! Are you doing a RWD setup??

Black86gti
01-07-2008, 12:18 AM
no rwd. it just allows access to the timing chains/ clutch side of the motor so the whole set up can be put together on the stand. just trying to get it put together as im working on a finding another toy

I figure its time for a little update to the project. i waited a month for my pistons but they finally showed up :drive: now its just yet another waiting game for the machine shop.

I have most of the parts in the build list is as follows

eurospec 268 cams
autotech valve springs
stock valves
lightweight lifters
5 angle valve job
ABV 2.9L euro intake and throttle body

abv 2.9L pistons
arp main and rod bolts
stock rods
fully balanced

still need:
eurospec lightweight fly wheel
stock vr6 clutch
underdrive crank pulley
external oil cooler

all will be controled by Megasquirt ms-II ver. 3.0 or 3.57

tranny upgrade will proly come later in the form of a LSD and 3.94 final drive

OrangeDUB
03-21-2008, 12:18 PM
Sweet! I'll keep my eyes out for those parts you still need. Are you using a mk4 or mk3 tranny?

Hey what are you doing for exhaust? I say go custom, join the few and the proud :p

Black86gti
03-21-2008, 01:48 PM
corrado tranny. exh. will be made by myself i think. itll be stock ported manifolds and 2.5" all the way back
