So one day I decided that the civic I was driving was just not fast enough. I had the suspension done up so I could hang through the corners with the best of them....but I need torque, something Honda's just don't have. I contemplated dropping in a new motor....not reliable enough for me to daily drive with a turbo on it. So I went to see my buddy at the VW dealership. I test drove a MK4 GTI, black and quick. I let my wife drive it and she was in love. It was time to save the pennies and wait. Months later I went back and was ready to put a down payment on one and trade the civic in. I gutted the civic of most of the after market stuff on it and went to the dealership.
When I got there my buddy told me the new MKV was out and that I should check it out. I was set on buying the MK4 but though I would check the new style out. I drove it and was in love. The issue was of course that it was more than the MK4...so I had to talk to the wife. I brought it out to see it and figured I would let the car do the selling. She didn't like the looks of it...she loves the MK4 styling. But, she commented on the driving of the car. " Two words,..." she said, "speeding ticket". She was right this car would definitely get you in trouble. So we crunched numbers with my buddy and on March 1st I had a new toy.
Here is the closest pic I could find of it stock...my other pc is in the shop with the other pics on it. This pic has the smoked blinker and marker lights, blue mirrors, and the open grills on the car.

Here is the R32 tails I put on. The tails are darker than the GTI tails, adds rear fog on the driver's side, and adds amber turn signals to the tails.

I was tired of freezing my ass off so I installed a heated seat element in the driver seat. I will eventually do th epassanger seat too.

I changed out the discharge pipe and the throttle pipe. Here you can see the differance in the restriction of the pipes.
