It will be painted on the sides. So the center will be CF and the sides will be black right along the hood lines.

Several plans for this spring :). The DPE wheels will be for sale after the holiday season and I will be getting something different... I have a good idea but I'm sure I will change my mind a few times.
Working out a few kinks right now. One coilpack is going bad and its misfiring occasionally. I put some die-electric grease on all the contacts on all 4 coilpacks and that helped out a lot. Not too bad since they have 65k on them ;)
Ordered a few parts which will be on their way shortly -
RS4 engine covers (top tray and right side) - should clean up the engine bay well.

AMS Short Shifter, S-Line rear valence and PCV valve update as well :).

No kidding John. Your Audi is looking very good with what you have decided to put on. A nice dark monochromatic theme offset of your wheel finish. Very nice. Do you have any clearance in the back for some spacers? A tad wider on the back and your stance would be money.

Thanks man!
Honestly, no I don't. I could go with a staggered set up - it would be fine with Quattro as long as I compensate with a smaller sidewall on the rear tires, but I would rather not sacrifice handling. The rear wheels are about as flush as they are going to get at this height - 2 passengers and it will rub in the back if I take a corner reasonably hard :D. About one finger for gap in the rear.

Quick story... my EPC light came on this summer after my little accident. It turns out that Maplewood Audi did not see the cracked intercooler tube on the passenger side after working on it. I brought it in and they proceeded to tell my that my entire P/S intercooler assembly needed to be replaced... a cool $845.... I called bull**** and asked to go see the car. After seeing a cracked intercooler tube and no other problems, I laughed, said "nice try" and told them to replace the tube. They charged me $40 for a new tube.
Well... I guess I paid $40 for a couple wraps of Camoflauge duct tape... I was *pissed* when I saw this.
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y99/JBurgman/My%20Car/IMG_0260.jpg
Working on it a bit more today and the tranny is going back in on sunday. :)

holy cheap you said an Audi dealer did that? I had no idea the likes of camoflage duct tape would be anywhere near an Audi dealership.. Wow
Have you confronted them about it?

04-08-2008, 02:32 PM
Is it bad that I want to take your car out for a nice steak dinner, a walk on the beach, and then back to my place for "coffee?" Nice ****ing ride, I love it. That's pretty sad **** that they'd do that at the dealer. I'm glad I live in the same city as the Kleiner's. :D
John2.0T
04-08-2008, 02:50 PM
yeah it is extremely disappointing to say the least... it would take me all week to list all of the problems and bull crap i've gone through with that dealership. Fortunately, a lot of people know about it - the guys on MN Audi despise that place.
lenny
04-08-2008, 08:02 PM
IT is well known in the Audi community that enthusiasts just about everywhere despise the dealerships. It's unfortunate that people that make such great cars can have such huge DBAGS working for them. They act like they know everything about cars and because you bought an Audi you don't and they can charge you whatever they want (you can obviously pay the bill, you bought an Audi). When they get confronted by people like me, john, andy (when he got pissed at witham about a secondary air pump) they get all butt hurt about it and then they REALLY turn into assholes because they know they've been caught red-haded at being DBAGS....Don't even get me started on Carousel. Their parts department is decent, but I honestly hope the rest of the place burns to the ground... Their sales people are arrogant, narrow, and know absolutely nothing about the cars they sell. Their service center does things just like what John noted above. They tried to sell me a throttle body for my old A4 for 800 dollars plus another 300 for labor....yeah right, a throttle body definitely takes 3 hours to put on (a hose clamp, a sensor, a throttle cable, and 4 bolts). I ended up purchasing one from ECS and doing it myself for less than half the price of the original part....F you Audi delearships, people that actually care about your cars hate you

^^^ 100% right.
A couple days after myself, Dan and Damir removed my transmission, I called Maplewood Audi to get a quote on how much it would be for them to remove my transmission and clutch... NOT put it back in.
The guy on the phone said "well - with 4 technicians working on your car, it would take 8 1/2 hours and labor would probably be around $1000."
I proceeded to laugh for almost a minute... while he said "sir?"
I told him he I just removed the tranny in 3 1/2 hours with 2 friends. The stuttering and stammering on the other end was hilarious and definitely worth the call.
I plan on calling again tomorrow to see what it would cost me for a timing belt change.... HAHA

Camouflage duct tape.... I would kick their asses, especially with your car. Those bastards. Its not even my car and Im pissed. Please go in and confront them, call the manager, make a scene, the whole deal and then post the story here. Thank God I dont have to deal with the stealer morons.

The front end is all back together and the car starts well - having some trouble with the clutch unfortunately .
With everything together it will go into gear just fine when the car is off... when its running, no dice. The clutch feels solid too. We bled the **** out of it and still no luck.
Sooo I have to drop the tranny again and mess around. Right now I'm thinking southbend sent me the wrong clutch. The throwout bearing looks a bit different than stock but i dont think thats what it is... I'm leaning towards the pressure plate right now.
