Never had I thought about VW's, infact found them annoying, before I had my first encounter. It was a love a first sight deal. I needed a car for college, and ran across a mk3 jetta gt. After that I was hooked.
After driving the Jetta for miles, no mods, I decided it was time for a new VW. And a turbo was very tempting. I ran across this GTI one day, as a friend pointed it out. I thought... hey i can afford this!... with in a week I owned it.
It came with tons of mods, and im still finding them. These include:
-VF Engineering engine mounts
-Nuespeed sway bar
-Nuespeed Springs (1.5" drop)
-Forge DV
-ECU upgrade
-Integy CAI
-Upgraded front and rear vented rotors
-4 bar FPR
Since its fast enough at this point, I've only added a few things:
-GPS
-Satellite Radio where the cigarrette ashtray should be
-Euroswitch
-20th ae joey mod
Im sure more will come, and this is the perfect place to keep a timeline. Keep checkin' back in!

If you're in my car at idle you'll know I have them, thats for sure!

Hahaha.
I've been looking at mounts for my car lately but nothing as stiff as yours probably are. I am looking at some BFI Stage 0.5 mounts that are supposed to be about 60A in shore hardness (stock are 40A.)

Explain...?
I had always had this stereotypical view of VWs, but young and in high school all I wanted was a honda... I guess car taste changes with maturity :P
I do, however, hate the mk3 passats with the no grill front
But its all a matter of searching for what you trully love, and my search landed with eurocars lol

I need some help with my direction...
A. Make it faster
B. Make it take corners at 70 mph
Which way do I go? It's already pretty damn fast, far from stock. But speed is fun... What does a man do?

I would vote for new shocks/struts for the next thing to be done, especially if you are still on stockers with the neuspeed sprints. :tu:

Cornering. I think you should really ride in a Kia Rio for a few days to appreciate the stuff that even stock VW has...:D so go for corners...

I plan on this. Coilovers are out of my price range right now.

But I also want to keep my camber in sync, but those sweet control arms gary just got, wont fit GTI's. So I imagine Ill need to research that out some.

In our cars a larger front sway bar will actually bring back the understeer quite a bit.

i meant your lower black intake vents, my bad for not being more clear
i am personally not a fan of the black rubs, it looks euro but makes the car look older and not as freshy-fresh like jazzy jeff.

word. I don't like black rub strips on Mk4s unless its a black car. Having everything color-matched looks really slick.
I like Casey's idea about gloss-blacking the grill openings though. Might be interesting to try.

I looked at some of those but after buying Porsche OEM wheels I had to go cheaper yet and get Rickens. They’re apparently made by Michelin and they seem ok so far but I keep hearing they wear bad. I guess that’s what you get when you buy a set of four new tires mounted for less than 3 bills…
