3rd Annual British / European Car Fest
DATE: Sat., June 2, 2007
TIME: 1PM - 4:30PM :: Registration begins at 11AM
SITE: Beaverdale (in Des Moines, exact location provided soon)
This is put on by the Iowa British Car Club and in recent years has been revised to include all Euro cars. A lot of the aircooled guys from the Bi-State VW Club will be there and I told them I would try to round up some PKG members as well.
All they are asking for to enter your car in the show is a non-perishable food item.
Let's get some members together and represent Projekt German well this Saturday. :tu:

Not with now dirty she is right now. Sure she looks good from 10 feet away, but you can tell she is a dirty girl up close (and when you pop the hood)
I will give her a nice bath that morning though, all will be good :D

very confusing....
This should be a great show, plus all the Bi-State VW guys are really cool. Driving around with them last Saturday has got me wanting an old aircooled VW now....

how many people are going to this event?
should we meet before hand ... Where is it ?
It will be down near the intersection of Beaver Ave and Urbandale Ave. One of the Bi-State guys said he was planning on showing up around noon. That's probably early enough to get in and get registered for the show.
I'd say everyone just meet down there when you can.

I would think meeting somewhere around 11:30-11:45 may be a good idea. That way we can roll in together so we don't get seperated. I think the chances of us getting parked next to each other are better if we are all in a line as we get there. Just a thought...

Any idea on a meeting place? 11:30 sounds good to me for everybody to get together.

I don't know that area that well, could maybe go scouting for a place sometime. Maybe just something like a grocery store, or gas station, or anything really... Maybe somewhere that we could get a bite to eat before the show too?

There's not much down in that area for restaurants, but anywhere on Merle Hay would be fair game (and only about 2 miles away from where the show is taking place.)

still trying to decide if i can afford to come....:(
They've already got some signs up on Beaver Avenue directly people down to the site. Stef and I cruised through there and I think they will be having it in the parking lot of the bank and this restaurant called Michael's.
It should be a good time. If anybody is free on Saturday, you ought to at least drop by.
Attendees:
1. DSV
2. Usacjudge

I have to work till 7pm so I am a no go. Otherwise I would be all up for it. The Euroblitz guys are going...at least that is what I heard. I tagged a kid I know at HyVee near my house and he stated he was on Euroblitz and that they were going.

It was a good show, too bad we all forgot cameras :banghead Met a bunch of cool people, saw lots of cool cars, overall a great afternoon :tu:
:word: There were a lot of awesome cars there. I'd have to say that my favorites were the 911 turbo and the Triumph TR3:
This is just a picture I found online of one:

There is a british car show here in the QCA on 12 Aug. If we have interest I could e-mail the group and see if they would mind us joining. It's going to be in the Village of East Davenport, which is a neat area with pubs and what-not near the river. Let me know...

Hey Mike we at eB are VERY disapointed to hear this. I am speaking for the group of people that you have the most reason to point a finger at, but I swear it wasn't our guys.
I could see how you would think it would be one of us with the recent past, but we have no desire to cause any problems either.
We had an internal discussion and we were all pointing fingers at each other saying stuff like "what the hell, now we look like a bunch of assholes". But it went full circle in the group and NONE of us liked it.
We are sorry you feel it was eB, but it wasn't. We were actually quite happy that it was a common group event with everyone civil and would like to see more of that.
I really hope it was some friend of yours that was just playing a joke on you. We would like to keep the peace.
^ I hope that it wasn't you guys either. I would rather be civil and get along. I'm tired of the bickering and back-and-forth crap.

It would also be nice if I was unbanned from eB, but I'm not sure that one is in the cards.

Just got an email from Jack and Peggy the cordinators of the event saying thank you to all that participated in the event and they are looking forward to next year and ways to improve.
:word:
I just got the same email. It was a great event and I'm sure it will be even better next year. Hopefully they can find a better spot for us instead of out on the side street.
